KILLLLLLLER!!!!!!!!!! many thanks! love him to death man, from the frizzy hair of the seventies to forever... like a million great songs what a soul, man what an ARTIST what talent what a gift!
Billy Joel is an american treasure, and one of the greatest songwriters of all time.
It's such a shame that the popular music press always ranks him so low on the best of all time lists that they come out with from time to time. I am a great Beatles fan, but the music of Mr William Joel is light years ahead of anything that John, Paul, George, or Ringo could EVER write. Oh well that's my opinion anyway.
@Timetraveler7777 I couldn't agree more! I think he is a lyrical genius and a truly gifted pianist. I am always disappointed that people don't reference him more often.
@gtkr69 Judging by what he's wearing, it's probably 1989 or 1990, when We Didn't start The Fire. Also, because he's wearing an anchor on his shirt, so yes it's probably during the Storm Front Tour, during 1990.
Hahah.........liberty devitto is totally into it, I think he mouthed most of the words to "Fire" Also is that John Mellencamp's violin player from the 80s?!?!?
@blumonkeyboy It's so different in a big arena concert, when he walks across the stage to one of two rotateable keybords for "Pressure" or "Don't Ask Me Why". Don't disparage Billy on a keyboard til you get to see him in concert. It's epic. :)
I remember this very well. I was fighting with my g/f at the time, and couldn't watch tv in her dorm room, so I had to desperately find a tv to catch this episode. Glad I did.
thats Liberty DiVito- he has been Joels drummer since the begining & dont confuse being intense with being stoned (although this was the cocaine 80's) TPintheBronx

Superior performance from the "Piano Man" & & his band (at this point & time).
PS- The girl who switched from the congas ( I Didn't Start The Fire) to the acoustic guitar (on Downeaster Alexis) is real cute!
