@Bonzostar I don't think there is. I've looked for ages. There's a clip of Hamlet's soliloqouy on the field in Denmark where he sees Fortinbras' army massing, and there's similar music.
Patrick Doyle really knows how to make music fit the scene. this track is yet another great example of how brilliant he is. a fitting finale to an excellent film version of Shakespeare's timeless tragedy.
great track, fitting the grand images on screen. Kenneth Branagh & Patrick Doyle-the greatest director/composer team alongside Steven Spielberg & John Williams and Sir Alfred Hitchcock & Bernard Herrman.
I cry everytime I see this scene.... I guess I just fell in love with Hamlet. :)

Some consider it the best Shakespeare-movie ever.
Easy to see why.

I want this played at my funeral as my casket is carried into my tomb.

Let four captains
Bear Hamlet, like a soldier, to the stage;
For he was likely, had he been put on,
To have proved most royally: and, for his passage,
The soldiers' music and the rites of war
Speak loudly for him.
Take up the bodies: such a sight as this
Becomes the field, but here shows much amiss.
Go, bid the soldiers shoot.

ahh! I love love the soundtrack to this movie.
Everything about and concerning the movie is PERFECT, but the soundtrack is the best.
Except for Kenneth. xD He IS Hamlet. ^_^

O, I die, Horatio;
The potent poison quite o'er-crows my spirit:
I cannot live to hear the news from England;
But I do prophesy the election lights
On Fortinbras: he has my dying voice;
So tell him, with the occurrents, more and less,
Which have solicited. The rest is silence.

Thanks for adding this.
"Good night, sweet Prince and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest." Heart-breaking...and in a strange way, heart-lifting.

@violetfieldflorence Is there a video of the original scene on YouTube?
I love that quote too but can't find it anywhere. :/
If you could share a link, it would be great. :)

I agree with you ShakespeareHamlet: Branagh/Doyle is a great director/composer team. I love the music of Patrick Doyle!
But when mentioning other director/composers remember Kieslowski and Zbigniew Preisner in Trois couleurs and other films...:)
