Brown shirt socialists? I'm sorry but do you realize how uneducated that sounds? Brown shirts would be FASCISTS and red shirts would be socialists! Educate yourself. No one is a socialist. We just want America to be as great as the other countries, like in Europe. Man I miss my French health care...
We need a PUBLIC OPTION to break the monopoly of the insurance companies. The number one goal of a business is to maximize profit margins. This means providing a low quality product for an increased cost! The government doesn't need to make a profit, it needs to get reelected. So for you to get reelected, I would strongly suggest you support a public option! The republicans, including yourself, haven't introduced a single alternative! You had your chance for bipartisanship and you blew it!
Problem with the public option - it never needs to turn a profit and to meet its costs it has 2 options - cheapen the product (rationing) or raise taxes. Both will happen under ObamaCare as they have wherever this has been tried. This happens everywhere it has been tried. I think it is arrogant and foolish to think we can do it better. All attempts to amend HR3200 or to introduce alternatives are thwarted by the left. Obama's rhetoric of being post-partisian seems hollow.
Timski, actually, if the elected officials want to get reelected, they won't cheapen the product. Even if they did do that, it's not like private insurance would be BANNED. It's ridiculous to think that we're the only developed country in the world who has problems like this insuring everyone one of our citizens!
I agree we must work together, and I appreciate your respectful and constructive thoughts. I am not sure if you swayed my view, but you certainly got me to think a little more from your viewpoint.
don't listen to the brown shirt socialists !!!!! The Chicagi tea party chapter stands with you
