even the best artists can mess up at a live performance. However Kanye exclusivley uses the auto tune for all his recordings and live performances for singing. He chose not to use the auto tune for this performance and as you can see he can't really hit the notes. It may be unique to you but it is false advertisment. The auto tune can make some cool sounds but it allows people who can't sing very well to stay in key.

I usually would agree and yes he may not be able to sing or whatever but honeslty this a great song, the lyrics and the melody in the chorus. Whether his performances are great or not, hes a good musician in the fact he wrote something that was deep and entertaining atleast when you hear it whether is the studio or not. So hes still a good musician just not a great performer

He would have warmed up his voice a little bit to actually get close to a couple of the notes instead of just "singing" monotone, the plain simple fact, kanye west can't sing! i like how everyone is complaining about the singing but why does it have to be perfect? is being a little off a bad thing? it gives it a unique sound and i believe it makes it better. every singer tries to be perfect vocaly when being off gives it a very unique quality and sound. this is my opinion!!! i am entitled to this, and i dont care if have something negative to say cause it will only make me laugh i only wish to see if anyone else agrees with me about this performence.

even the best artists can mess up at a live performance. However Kanye exclusivley uses the auto tune for all his recordings and live performances for singing. He chose not to use the auto tune for this performance and as you can see he can't really hit the notes. It may be unique to you but it is false advertisment. The auto tune can make some cool sounds but it allows people who can't sing very well to stay in key.

LOL its hilarious how many of you miss the actual point of him using autotune...he KNOWS he can't sing...he's even said quite a few times that this highlights his inability to sing.
The autotune is the contrast...the robotic emotionless tone of the machine, mixed with the pop/emotion of the songs.

tru, maybe the singing wasn't that great, especially in the beginning, but you have to consider the "soul" he puts in this song. the cd track doesn't have anywhere near the amount of emotion as this performance, i would take this one any day. just look at either bob dylan or leonard cohen, two people who can't sing but have "soul"
