Maybe it's a Halsey flash clone who is a bubbly 18 year old blonde :p Kelly is also supposed to have shorn hair and I don't remember John being gigantic as compared to the others. This is still fun to watch but overall not true to the mythos--I was glad to see Fred and Kelly included in a story outside the books tho! Thel also became Arbiter because of his failure to protect Installation 4, not from whatever vague failure is referred to in this. Again, fun to watch but definitely not canon.

The "don't make a girl a promise" thing is a throwback to one of Cortana's lines in a previous Halo game, because Cortana's personality is based off of Halsey's, that line kind of serves as a way to drive that fact home.

@rebelian7 Cortana herself is based off Halsey. "Smart" AIs are created through taking complete engrams off living personas, and Cortana happens to be created from a scan of Dr. Halsey's mind.

While all Spartan-IIs were supervised by Halsey among others, she (and Cortana) recognised John-117's qualities and they influenced him in turn.

This is why in the game, He cracked wise on Cortana's driving of the Autumn. She and Halsey tend to do this too, as this clip shows in particular.

One of the important things about human ftl in halo is the use of cryo.

Dunno if its because of that, but it was explained in one of the halo books that John was 5-10 younger than he normally would have been without it.

Out of all of the halo ledgends, this has to be my least favourite, it just butchers the cannon, and I refuse to accept it as any form of cannon tbh. Actually, if you read ALL the books, you'll find that there was a stealth ship for the UNSC.

Also, the flares didn't 'divert' the warship, it just got in the way. It's like throwing a collection of bricks into the path of an RPG.

It makes sense if you do your research.

@HarakMolova You obviously don't know what a flare is, or how it works. They're used to attract missiles because, as their name would suggest, they're basically fireworks. The UNSC tried to use Archer missiles to shoot down plasma torpedo in one of the books. Remember how it did nothing? Why would flares do anything? They're NOT solid objects.

And yes, the UNSC has a stealth ship, just like the US has stealth aircraft. There's a difference between stealth and complete invisibility.
