  • I love Chrome and Google in general but on my MBA, safari is so much prettier and faster. Anything Windows- Chrome wins, but on Mac I Safari is really close to being the winner. The only thing keeping Chrome #1 on Mac is its ability to sync all browsers, use different profiles, and auto zoom (on the smaller screens).

  • FIREFOX IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THAT!!!!

  • Even Maxthon 3 is worth a try !!! Try it and u will like it !!!

  • Y is every MacUser just doing speedtests? My Laptop/MBP would be on Standby all time if it's not used and i just launch my browser once. Who is interested in Booting or Launchtime... -.-

  • Your tests are invalid. In order to do a valid test you will have to time each browser individually or test them at the same time on 3 different machines (identical specs). The way you do it the tests are inherently invalide because of the way CPU scheduling and threads work.

    Cheers.

  • @srki80 good thing this isn't a scientific test.

  • @gmanist1000 My point was, scientific or not, your test doesn't test what you intended to test.

  • You know I am finding Safari to be really good on the Mac. On Windows it's a nightmare.

I know Chrome probably is a bit faster or more stable, but I can't give up Safari.. I'm too addicted now to all the gestures. lol

  • Well you should of done a time who took the longest to go on your youtube channel

  • safari sucsk on pcs google chrome is alot faster on pcs so yea it depends

  • safari sucsk on pcs

  • Safari actually did win the warm startup round, look at the blue glow light

  • my Lacie Rikkiki is so cold

  • Chrome is the best.

  • 1. Google Chrome > Speedy as hell

    2. Mozilla Firefox >Not enough speedy as chrome but a lot of usefull apps.

    3. Safari> shiny, for comfortable browsing!

  • @Alibeat01 Very well pointed out!

  • With the recent build Chrome definitely loads faster, I am pretty sure this will change in the future for Safari on the OS X platform.

Personally I am not fussed about launch times but more about the technology, ergonomics and philosophies behind the browser.

    FIrefox is my answer.

  • a test bad... only open the browser? :/

  • ALL I GOT TO SAY IS CHROME!!!!!

  • mine is 10.6.1

  • safari is what they use at elementary schools lol

  • @butterflies223 Pff. Even at my Middle School they make us use Safari even though Firefox is installed. Teacher accounts get to use FF, however. Chrome is not on there. These, in my school, are about 3/4s eMac G4s and the rest are early Intel iMacs with the 17" screens....

  • dude... why would u do this test..... Mac browser Rocks... i love it. its easy, fast and efficient . dont wast time.. just put ur time towards learning how to use mac browser ol

  • I know how to use Safari. This was a test to show you the comparison.

  • preferences : command ,

  • 1:15 Chrome came first on the second test.

  • You're right. Chrome wins the second one.

  • Oh you're right, I guess I didn't see it correctly.

  • @gmanist1000 Safari actually did win the warm startup round, look at the blue glow light

  • @gmanist1000 Actually, Safari stopped bouncing in the dock before chrome did.

  • Chrome don't show a icon if a site has RSS and cant read RSS/XML-files...
