  • This doesen't change the fact this song belongs to Mozart.

  • @123petar123 What do you mean?

  • mozart is more better then salieri

  • Salieri unfairly gets a rad reputation because of "Amadeus", while in reality their competition was nothing more than respectful rivalry.

  • @ErichWr We could say the Jaws had a similar affect.

  • @markusboyd3 With Sharks you mean? Absolutely, they get an awful rap too.

  • @ErichWr Yes, we have developed the belief that sharks are naturally aggressive towards humans. The reality is however, we are more aggressive to them! It is amazing, yet sad how much movies can influence our belief systems.

  • are you listened this if you not to see 'amadeus"? I'm not. but I love it. It so beautifull...

  • laugh if you will, but it wasn't Mozart who was laughing...It was GOD!!!

  • I started listening to Salieri because of "Amadeus". I keep listening to Salieri because he wrote beautiful music.

  • @KarmStarkiller Me too!

  • Right now I have a professor who teaches using the movie Amadeus as if it is an accurate historical record. It's kind of annoying.

  • @TCharlieA So it should be as there are too many historical flaws in Amadeus to consider it noteworthy or even accurate, no mention of Schubert for instance!

  • I don't know why he is depicted as a mediocre composer...I mean he wasn't famous for ages to come but his music has made a return and he instructed Franz Shubert, Beethoven, and Liszt... I'd say that's a pretty successful life

  • please STOP With this fuukin comparison whit mozart...come on!!! JUST LISTEN *_* the beauty, the emotional...JUST LISTEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND SHUT UP

  • @Antoblackterror They keep comparing him to Mozart because of the movie Amadeus

  • salieri was actually the best composer in europe, and everyone knew who he was...until mozart....

  • in his lifetime he was more popular than Mozart, so the movie wasnt reality. as usually.

  • mozart doesn't like this video

  • I would like to experience it for yourself, unfortunately, never have that option :(...thanks "Big Salieri"

  • AH Goddamn it! I thought this was the D minor fragment!

  • ¡Marcaron terriblemente a Salieri!

  • Salieri is my great (ect) cousin on my mothers side, and he is BRILLIANT!! I have a bunch of copies of his music in my room that I play. Amadeus is a rather inaccurate movie, however, it does portray Salieri as a man of greatness. He trully was "The Toast of Europe". he was financhly well while Mozart...was...well..broke!! And Salieri wasn't solically awkward either. So, A toast to Salieri!!

  • " Mozaaart! Mozaaart! Forgive Me, Mozart! "

  • @Peeerdear Wich Sources say that? by the way worser is a word?

  • I still like Mozart's music more.

  • Beautiful, this is my favorite requiem.

  • Amadeus was an entertaining film, but total fiction. Yet, without the popularity of the movie, who would know about Salieri today? So, although some uneducated people believe the false portrait of Salieri painted in the film Amadeus, we can now at least listen to his divine genius.

  • Bravo Maestro!!

  • I killed Mozart!

  • Yay Salieri is on Youtube! I luv music way more den Mozarts!:D

  • At least more people do know him now! After the movie `Amadeus´ Salieri can only improve his public worshipment. Mozart, after all, can only decline... Besides: there is nothing to match Greatgrandmaster Joh.Seb. Bach! He was so smart never doing Operas and his work lasts for ever! Even Salieri uses the unconscious influences of Bachs late-stile. I like only the church-music of Mozart. To many notes...

  • Salieri blamed God for the allowance of the death of Mozart, but it was his Envy that changed the course of time and the plans God had for Salieri and Mozart. Salieri could have the chance of becoming the greatest composer, but Mozart came and Salieri saw him as a superior, instead of a challenge or a rival. Salieri took defeat to Mozart instead of taking the courage of pushing himself up to become even greater than Mozart.

  • sad sad sad that I had to hear about this awesome (yet squirrely looking) composer from a movie that ruined his image.

  • Foolish he was not. Better his requiem than the one of other.

  • @MrFUHGEDDABOUDIT ??? What did you try to say? xD Mozart is a genious, Salieri was good... ONLY GOOD...

  • @WickedGamesRV No Moinsieaur.

  • @DavidEppursimuove LOL! Just think about Salieri VS Mozart!... Salieri its a little bug! without offence to Salieri.... If you ask any one who knows about music.

Its easier sing something from Salieri, But sing something from Mozart its beautiful and melodic compositions is a triunf to every ear and harder. Salieri was respect in his time just because had good influences who help him... nothing else!

  • @DavidEppursimuove Salieri Salieri Salieri ok! Salieri won! (in your stranger world! of course) LOL In the real world Mozart is recognize in every single country!

  • P.D. at least you have to read Salieri's biography and Mozart's biography too.

  • requiescat in pace, signore Salieri

  • Is what Salieri says in Amadeus true though that Salieri saw his music grow fainter as he grew older, whereas Mozart's music continued to be played in opera houses and concerts 30 years after his death?

  • @drfenderfunk

very much so, how long did you know of mozart before you did salieri? That'll answer your question.

  • @drfenderfunk Mozart is still played today!!!! Salieri is forgotten.

  • @JohnnieNaked that is too bad, that only a few of us believe that there are other magnificent composers other than Mozart, Beethoven and Bach. Not that Mozart, Beethoven and Bach aren't magnificent, but just saying...

  • @gajda1984 Huh? How did you get from my post that those were the only 3 composers I respect? Clearly Mozart was superior to Salieri.

  • @JohnnieNaked What gives you the right to say " Clearly Mozart was superior to Salieri."? If that was your opinion, I'll respect it. But that doesn't mean it is a fact.

  • @gajda1984 Right of free speech? Also, it's not really a matter of opinion as your post seems to imply. It's about the quality and lasting-ness of the music (which can be measured). Mozart was a master of repetition, hook, theme, voice, and wrote what are still considered by musical experts to be the best operas ever written. We know of Mozart because he was a musical GIANT. We know of Salieri because he was a contemporary of Mozart, nothing more.

  • Not only that but his output in 35 years of life was almost treble what Salieri put out in 75.

  • @JohnnieNaked Just because Mozart wrote more than Salieri in his 35 years, doesn't mean the pieces that Salieri wrote aren't of great quality.

  • @gajda1984 Im not saying he sucks, but overall Mozart was a better composer and there is just no debate. I mean, if you argued for Salieri being a better composer with just about anyone on this planet, including historians and music experts they would almost without exception laugh in your face.

  • @JohnnieNaked Dude listen, I am not saying this requiem is better than Mozart's requiem. But I am not saying it is worse either per se. All I am saying is I wish people would think outside the box. I think people are closeminded to those composer's who weren't as successful as one's such as Beethoven, Bach, Mozart etc.

  • @gajda1984 Are you saying that Quantity is better than Quality??

  • @DavidEppursimuove Cheers

  • @JohnnieNaked We know of Mozart because he is a prodigy. We are always worried about prodigies that we forget about those that have hidden talents and need a hand up. Why don't you tell me what exactly makes this piece inferior to Mozart's requiem? Because I don't know about you, but I don't feel the lack of theme. I think people spend too much damn time on being an intellectual bonehead.

  • @gajda1984 No we know of Mozart because his music is so good it's TIMELESS. Salieri is all but forgotten.

  • @JohnnieNaked And remember this above all else, whether it is a fancy requiem like this, Mozart's or Verdi's, or a simple melody and bourdon style requiem of the middle ages, the person is still dead.

  • Comment removed

  • @JohnnieNaked

You are wrong there. Salieri instructed both Beethoven and Listz in composition, and was consider one of the best composers of his day especially in Vienna.

  • Antonio Salieri really was a great musician!

he had the glory while he was alive, today unfortunately nobody remember him =(

  • This is just a great piece, I love Salieri's compositions!

  • This sounds so much like Mozart's that it errs on copyright infringement...

  • @brassmonkeyjew : C'mon, this work was far anterior to Mozart's. Don't talk about what you don't know.

  • Antonio Salieri was, and still is, truly a great composer. It's about time he becomes a recognized composer!!!

  • the film about their rivalry was a fiction, but theres no doubt that salieri's ability was pallid in comparison to mozart's. just look at mozart's equivelant requiem in Dm. This piece is very forgettable in my opinion.

  • This piece has the plus, however, of not being unfinished.

  • It is Salieri's, definitely

  • is this his requiem or is it Mozarts?

  • Bonjour,

  • This guy was actually pretty good. He taught Liszt, Beethoven, Czerny. I don't understand the whole myth.

  • The Movie "Amadeus" has ruined too much the Salieri's image, he's not Mozart, but it's cruel saying that he wasn't a good composer! I really like it!

  • True Salieri was very popular in his time

  • @ZambroCassa29 I read on the Wikipedia that Mozart had Salieri tutor his son, incidentally the movie and play are based on the fact that Salieri claimed he killed Mozart but this was after he lost his mind in old age. Also the man in black in the movie was not Salieri but someone else probably not in Salieri's caliber of talent.

  • Take everything you read on Wikipedia with a grain of salt, my friend.

  • @Firejack95 True sometimes I find myself checking up on stuff I checked up. It is well known that Salieri did have some kind of mental imbalance later in his life. So his claim of murdering Mozart is not reliable.

  • @ZambroCassa29

Incorrect. The German ruined Salieri's image during growing tensions of nationalism. The image of Salieri (and Italians in general) as being the "bad guys" began in the 19th century. There was actually another play (german) based on these two which also depicted Salieri as a bad guy, so do not think it was the film. It was anti-Italian propaganda that at this point is almost two centuries old.

  • @ZambroCassa29 It was never meant to show Salieri as a poor composer; he wasn't. What it attempted was to illustrate the difference between a man of talent versus a man of genius.

  • @ZambroCassa29 He did sayd he killed Mozart...

  • @ZambroCassa29 in the movie "amadeus" he´s noticed as the best composer till mozart came to germany.

it ruined salieri in the way of his moral. because in the movie he wants to kill mozart. i dont think that he wanted it in past

  • Comment removed

  • @ZambroCassa29 Me too. Just discovering him today. Poor man, poor Mozart; all this talent, to ruins....

  • @ZambroCassa29 And I actually don't think that Salieri ever really wanted to kill Mozart!

  • How lovely! Bravo, Maestro Salieri!

Mozart.

A great composition of a great composer. But Salieri had the misfortune of coinciding in time and place with the best composer who has known the humanity, I refer, of course, to W.A. Mozart.

    Buenas noches, cuidate mucho.

  • or with the second great composer of all the time...

    apprend ton histoire lol

  • I think Salieri is really great composer. We should consider his job much more.

  • Fascinating

  • In my opinion, Salieri's magnum opus.

  • yey
