  • Now that's the way to fucking rock. I saw OLP back in '97.

  • I would have to say this one the best cd they ever made. all the other's did not have the heart and soul.

  • fuck yeah. today i bought this album just because i loved the cover and it was just 1 euro. it's awesome!!!

  • Raine sounds nothing like Corgan. Stop saying that. This song I don't believe was released in the US only Canada. Their second single Starseed garnered airplay in both countries.

  • burden, you are right... i forgot how awesome this album is......was....awesome

  • jeremy taggart (drummer) was 17 when they made this album :)

  • This drummer loved the crash cymbals

  • I love this band and smashing pumpkins and who ever said this band sounded like smashing pumpkins, no they don't so shutt up

  • Holy cripes, I cant believe Naveed is 16 years old!!

  • i have this album memorized!! best album besides happiness... is not a fish you can catch :D

  • Glad to see there are others out there , who appreciate this masterpiece :)

  • i just love the vibe of the 90s videos

    always dark and cool

  • Best album made by OLP hands down.

  • Raine sounds nothing like Billy. Billy sounds to me like he complains alot.

  • u guys are all fags, noone cares what u think.

  • man they need to dirty up their next album. not feeling the melo clean sounds of their newer albums. they're good, but nothing compared to this. monkey brains is pretty solid though - best song they've had in a long while.

  • This is the only thing that Canada doesn't have to apologize for.

  • @chadsdabombizzle

QFT man! Our Lady Peace for life!

  • Rush?

  • Indeed. I forgot about Rush. And Bryan Adams too. They both suck balls.

  • excuse me rush kick ass

but u know what ur intitled to ur own opinion if i cud say one thing to u its if u think rush is shit look up their song" the spirt of the radio " ....and then tell me what u think

  • I have heard that song before and I can still say with all honesty that Rush sucks. I can't handle their sound. I respect them as musicians because they have been around forever. Nevertheless their music induces headaches.

  • ok well i can give u a canadian band that doesnt induce headaches, i hate them but americans seem to like them , look up NICKLEBACK

  • Yea dude Nickleback suck giant dong. Any one who likes them is a fag. They are infesting my country with their faggy horrible sounding shitty music. Thanks for the crap, Canada.

  • ok wait a sec do u like wrestlein?

  • Ah no. Wrestling is also for fags. It's a redneck soap opera.

  • ok well man i have a few things to say:

    1. yeah our lady peace is good

    2. Canada may send out a lot of crap but there is some good

3.rush have lasted this long cuz the do have a large fan base and like ACDC there will obously people who hate em

    4. nickleback could improve but like rush hold a large fan base

5.i respect ur opinoin but i have to say that

  • @TheConstruct if you dont like this band then why the fuck are you listening to them??

  • Billy Corgan says a lot of insane bullshit so I wouldn't put any stock in his comments.

  • @TheConstruct dude... OLP is much bigger than Smashing Pumpkins will ever be.. plus listen to OLP's newer albums, Raine sounds nothing like Billy, He just doesn't sound like he did in this album and clumsy, unfortunately they changed there sound..

  • @justjoshenaround i dont know, i think smashing pumpkins are more famous than OLP, at least in America. idk about Canada. although OLP is much better in my opinion

  • This album is excellent for working out to--so high energy-- Crank the volume!!

  • fuck yes this album ruled

  • awesome song awesome cd

  • Wow Raine looked amazing with long hair

Their sound was much more mature in this album, I can't stand the clean cut sound of their newer albums.

  • song is amazingggggggggggggg olp is the greatessttt

  • Sweet =D

  • Every album of Our Lady Peace is awesome, never made a bad album yet!

  • I actually didn't hate Healthy in Paranoid Times as much as a lot of people seem to. Some of the tracks are bad, but there are solid ones that just sound different from their older stuff. I agree that Gravity was a giant what-the-fuck, though. It's decent pop-rock but it just doesn't have the soul of their old stuff.

Also I miss it when Raine wrote poetry for lyrics instead of 'hey I like this girl a lot."

  • I thought it was MUCH better than Machines.

  • Honestly, I think everything after spiritual machines is shitty, but I also think that Naveed and Clumsy are the only two albums you can willfully listen to all the way through without skipping around.

  • Agreed, except I think Happiness is not a fish you can catch was as good as Naveed and Clumsy too. They turned into fucking Nickelback or something with Gravity, I can't tell that album apart from all the other mainstream albums that sound exactly the same.

  • dude....burn burn is actually good...i can agree for the other 2....but for my 1st olp album? i love burn burn

  • Burn burn is alright, not their best by far, but definatly better then what they've been putting out lately.

  • though i don't have any other album, this...

i have all their singles pretty much

  • clumsy is also good

  • wow i'm happy to see everybody agrees that naveed was their best / only good album.

  • Naveed was an awesome album

  • true.

  • great song ... always forget about birdman

  • raine maida with long hair??? SEXY!!! <3<3<3

  • yea it is but its not its okay.

    fucking love OLP!

    for life baby!

  • Naveed was their best album, Clumsy was fairly good too, but it sounds like a re-thinking of Naveed rather than something brand new. After those two albums I just kind of ignored the band.

  • i agree with Naveed being their best album. however, the albums following clumsy aren't all that bad. most of it definitely shows either a lack of musical collaboration on their part, or a strong influence from outside sources such as record companies/producers. but, there are a few songs in the later albums that are still relevant to the bands origins. it's a shame though that you can't just pop those albums in and listen to them all the way through like this one.

  • I agree Naveed is easily their best, I liked them up to spiritual machines, hated everything since then,

  • There was a best of thing that came out in 2006 that wasn't bad, since it was their best....I really like OLP....they're my sister's favourite band, so that's how I know about them.

  • agreed. our lady peace is down right terrible now--- but the first two albums were amazing---- especially naveed.

  • all their albums are awesome up until gravity.

naveed, clumsy, happiness, and spiritual machines are awesome.

  • huh, its kinda funny, one of my nicknames is birdman

  • the video looks alot like heart shaped box by nirvana

  • I believe they were big fans of Nirvana. BUt I just realized how much of a old band they are. They're cool though.

  • outstanding song

  • He sounds like early Robert Plant in some aspects. I'm sorry they burned out, but they did contribute. Led Zep and Alice in Chains sounding.

  • Naveed, Clumsy and Happiness is not a fish..are the defining albums of Our Lady Peace before they changed their style to please US radio airwaves. Raine was RAW with his sound in these albums and went super soft in Gravity, that album was weak sauce.

  • whats wrong with pleasing the masters???

  • doesnt plz us early fans

  • dude what about spiritual machines that one owns all the rest. Have you read the book?

  • OLP, Naveed was the best they ever did. Clumsy was great, just different. The newer stuff has changed too much from their roots to appeal much to me. Still, this album has my ULTIMATE respect. Golden.

  • tune down 1/2 step and rock out!

  • naveed is such a good album

  • oh man...this is a 90s video to the core... i wish i was old enough to appriciate great music back then

  • Comment removed

  • L....M....F....A....O at 1:49.

  • Raine looks scary with his long hair :/

  • lol it doesn't even look like raine XD

  • yeah not really...it was pretty much perfect in like- innocent, or somewhere out there

  • chaa

  • agreed! i liked that hair!! but really if its him i dont mind lol ... oh but i did NOT like his hair in angels losing sleep video. that hair bugged me

  • naveed and clumsy= best our lady peace albums

  • in my mind their only albums

  • yep

  • i'ld add happiness to that list

  • yeah, your right

  • Spiritual Machines?! How did ya not count that. I love that album.

  • Probably a top 5 OLP song along with other songs off this album and Clumsy only

  • yep

  • raine has an amazing voice

  • the video scares me :O

  • 1994?

  • there's no live version of this song!!??

  • Yea, on the Live DVD from their concert in Montreal and I think Edmonton?

    Anyway, sounds fucking amazing. =D

  • shame the full 5:51 version isnt anywhere on youtube

  • Chris was never even supposed to be in the band from the start. The band wanted Duncan in it, but Duncan wanted to finish his schooling first, so the guys went with Chris. Then once Duncan finished schooling, they parted ways with Chris.

  • theres way too many comments saying "this was there only good album, after they went more alternative they sucked" ya it was deffinitlly there best, but to say the later stuff sucks, is total BS, its is still amazing music, aslong as raine is singing for them, they always will be amazing

  • If anything, the first album would've been the most alternative... fn sweet.

  • This was an awesome band that seemed to loose most of it's impact when Chris Eacrett left.

Mike Turner leaving finished them off.

the have never been the same.

  • Chris had no impact on the band WHATsoever, he played what they wrote for him, thats it.

  • do you know for a fact that Chris was fed his basslines ? , being a bassplayer myself i can tell you for a fact that Chris plays much better, with more conviction and has a much better bass sound then duncan.

why is it that when Chris left they started to sound "TOP40" , "girly songs" ?

there's no doubt in my mind that OLP went soft on us after Chris and Mike left.

    strange coincidence.

  • I agree with Mike, but after Chris left they came out with Clumsy, they're best album to date with their hit song Superman's Dead, now I dunno about you but Superman's Dead is not soft and girly, not only Superman's Dead, but Automatic Flowers and Clumsy, all attributed to the unique sound of that album. After that they came out With Happiness... which IMO was their best album, which again is certainly not poppy. Two things contributed to their decline, Bob Rock and a lack of Mike Turner.

  • once again, i'm a bass player and i choose Chris over duncan ANYDAY, i never liked duncan's sound or basslines. you're right though Clumsy was a good album, not their best i prefer Naveed. i noticed the bass was sub-standard after the first album but still liked Mike and jeremy's work even though raine was loosing his voice. i saw them live a few times ...and raine was singning most of the high parts an octave lower... sad !

  • yea, his voice did get a lot deeper I saw him this summer, he can still use falsetto but he cant hit really high notes

  • true true. however, a large part of their sound was and still is raine. lets be optimistic and think that their next album will be a return to this if his head's in the right place. aka less pop, more olp.

  • this is prety much there only good cd, where you hear there grunge more then alternative rock. after they let alternative take over they sucked.

  • You realize that 'alternative' isn't the same thing as 'pop' right?

When you listen to stuff like this, - and everything off of Clumsy and Naveed, especially - that's one thing. Stuff like "Somewhere Out There" is something totally different, and the latter would easily be considered more 'pop' than 'alternative'. And seeing how stuff like that make up more of their newer stuff...I'm not really sure what you're getting at.

  • You realize the lines between the two terms are so blurred these days that they might as well mean the same thing. To anyone with both eyes open, they mean pretty much nothing though.

  • I think everything after Spiritual Machines went in the crapper. Some of the songs on Gravity are OK, and I wonder if they're the ones Mike worked on before he split.

  • This song is so aggressive and passionate. I love it. The video is weird, but it definetly adds to the absurd tone of the song. Love it.

And does anybody else think Raine Maida looks like Jim Carrey? I laughed at his hair in this one, I admit. :)

  • lol so true i always tought he looked like carrey ! haha but raine's way sexier ;P

  • In Naveed - Clumsy - Happiness... albums, he looks like Jim. Haha.

    Raine is WAYYY sexier.

  • I think he looks more like Jake Gyllenhal.

  • fantastic album but personally i think their best album ever was clumsy. happiness was awesome too, spiritual machines was ok, gravity was a new direction, and healthy in paranoid times was alright. i still love love this band though.

  • no, they went up after this and started declining after happiness.

  • Backed 100%

  • I would say more like after Spiritual Machines..but I really don't mind Gravity or Healthy in Paranoid Times, sure they may not be the same but they're great (while more mainstream) great records, and Raine has said this album they are recording now sounds really close to Naveed so I am looking forward to that.

  • yea actually, I dont think its too bad, im more blaming bob rock and im really lookin forward to the next album, and hoping it will be like the older albums. I also notice you're quite the AiC fan, and id just like to say that alice in chains is fucking amazing and layne staley was an unreal singer.

  • Ah I love smart people, you seem like you know what you're talking about, you have a good taste in music.

  • yyyyyyyyeah!

  • This song had the best hook in it. Saw this video on Much music and I was an instant fan. They slowly declined from here though.

  • Personally, Our Lady Peaces first three albums are the best. Spiritual Machines and Gravity have their moments but anything after that is just less interesting in my opinion.

  • Absolutely their best album. They just had so much energy in their music and videos for this album, compared to the rest of their newer songs. I hate seeing bands get slower the older they get. Metallica is the best example.

  • what happened? where'd this band go? why am i stuck with the shame of songs like angels losing sleep and that where are you shit.

  • Mike left, Arnold left, Raine went to a war-torn country, Raine got old and couldn't sing anymore, etc

  • the best three olp albums in no particular order: naveed, clumsy, spiritual machines

  • THIS VIDEO IS AWESOME! Hahaha, sweet hair. Geez, you can tell this is an old video. The boys look so young. This was released before I was even born. I love OLP's style, it's so unique from other mainstream rock.

  • wow, i still remember the lyrics, this cd is mindblowing, OLP rock, i will play the whole cd tonight, great

  • why does raine remind me of spencer rice.

  • Awsome for a 1994 song !! =D

  • It is a pretty classic grunge looking video. There really was a method back then to making videos that every band had to follow. Crazy old man, check, weird broken bird cage, check, colorful sunset background, check, bad grunge hair - those were the days!

  • Dude OLP got there own unique style...how are they ripoff and NIRVANA????U FREAKN SERIUS! I THINK THEYRE BETTER THAN NIRVANA!!!but they sound like Smashing Pumpkins who agrees

  • Is the drummer sitting in a bird's nest? It looks like it in some shots.

  • nice 90's touch :)

  • Did you know that the old man in this vid happens to be on every album cover of OLP? With the exception of gravity...lets not talk about that album, it disappointed me. But they did make it up on Healthy, so I still consider them my favorite band. Besides, I remember them back when...god I feel old now...haha.

  • hes not on spiritual machines either,

or is that cartoony guy supposed to be him?

  • his name is saul fox...they name check him in the liner notes of A Decade.

  • The cartoonish guy represents Saul Fox, plus a similar character of him in the "In Repair" music video.

  • it is A lil similar but nirvana and our lady peace both rock and were heavily influential nirvana more so but i think its not so much a rip off as a praise they thought it was so good they wanted to do a similar(ish) vid that can be only een as praise and oh man why didnt we think of thatness if u see what i mean?

  • Wow! So early OLP you can barely recognize them. First song off the first album. I love their early stuff: gravity and on was just horrible, I'm sorry to say. :(

  • how can people like clumsey, happiness and spiritual machines, but not like gravity? sooo stupid! honestly, have you ever listened to the CD? lyrics of the song and defenitly just as good as before... the instrumentals changed a TINY bit, big deal, bands shouldnt sound exactly the same on every CD

  • The difference between "Naveed" through five more albums to "Healthy..." inclusive is So nominal. If anything the problem with OLP is a lack of range.

Having said that, they've had their formula nailed from day one. Every album has 3-6 songs that fit perfectly into their stong but limited canon.

  • yes.i think that each song would have their own unique sound.i discover this song because of the song somewhere out there.but i first heard them with the song sorry.i like all of their songs.all 8albums i think.need changes in life.smiles.from Philippines

  • gravity isnt nearly as good as the others.

  • i think they made their best on thier very first album.although gravity is best too, although on different concept

  • no its not a rip off , the birdman was anactual person they knew growing up.

  • buhh...so much better than heart shaped box

  • and just who do you reckon OLP are trying to rip off? no way, Our Lady Peace have their own style, i can't for the life of me think of a band that they could have ripped off

  • Elaborate more please... I don't hear any similarities...

  • I don't hear any similarities at all either

  • me neither

  • he's talking about the video.. it's a shameless ripoff.

  • i was too.

it's not very similar at all.

  • Ripoff? Not quite. The only similarity is the background. I can maybe see the thing about the guy tied to the stake-thing, but in HSB it was a crusifix, in this it's like a scarecrow.

  • haha. saul fox.

  • sta bueno bueno!

  • my favourite song but the video scares me

  • olp, miss this type of stuff.

  • ...beautiful music!

floria is the best videomaker in the universe...she's a genius,I'm a big fan of her!!!

  • Love em

  • hey i've posted this video for first! :D
