People often are surprised by beautiful she was, how slim, how stylish. The image of her as some out-of-it drunk or addict was one she herself somewhat promoted to look like a hip kitty. But actually those who worked and recorded with her often said she came prepared, knew what she wanted to achieve artistically, and truly loved the musicians she worked with and the music. Thank you for providing this for the world to see and love.
@michichi333 she wasn't high....this was her paris performance around 1958, just a bit over a year before she died 17 july 1959 and it was during this period of her life lady was not on drugs @ all....she had been clean for sizeable amount of time during this period. like any good storyteller, lady is able to convey a wealth of emotions with just her facial expressions as evidenced by this masterful performance here.
@darchylde612 - as always, those who have the knowledge shed light to the rest. Thanks for you post. I've loved Billie ever since I heard her for the first time, almost 25 years ago! Cheers!
@vHumboldt77 you're welcome and thank you for the kind words! i too have been a bille fan for nearly 35 years and it's from listening to her recordings that i found my own voice and learned to sing. i owe lady a debt that i could never repay.

I was looking for this video long months. Thanks a lot! I guess that it is the last recorded concert of Billie.
Now I waiting for "One For The Road":)
