@gebris353 exactly! people who don't really think about these things deep enough don't understand that already, the human diet is unnatural, so how can we apply OUR idea of how to eat, towards our pets, who have absolutely no care or interest in the aesthetic issues we place on food. To take this even further, gebris353, you may want to think about leaving the eggs in the shells! The shells have valuable nutrients and it is exactly how they would get it in the wild.Que dios te bendiga!
@gebris353 lol, yeah they also have cars. and mini highways, and tegu bars and tegu clothes. lol some people are dumb nowadays. they have no common since. And nice tegu also, ill try to get some vids up of my german beardy and sandfire beardy

hi, i have a tegu called tyrone and hes verry well looked after, i feed him mice locust, chicks and eggs, anything else that i can feed him that wont harm him?
@04reeveselliott feed him a LOT of fruit actually, in the wild they eat 66% fruit!!! they're like bears :) almost...also makes shedding smoother end there won't be little rings remaining on the fingertips wich can couse the fingertips to dry out and fall :S
@jarqu14 Hi! They are the typical snails you can find in a backyard, not the black with hard shell ones, but always talking from Argentina where I live. =)
I have showed some of Juancho's adventures to a 3rd grade kids and they were so happy and they love each of the clips. Your dog also looks so friendly. It's good to have sort of a friendly clips/videos of people showing love and care to animals. What a good example for new generations! All the best.
@Busterdrag Kinda! I would say 1/3 fruits (they probably wont eat any vegetables) since it's just a complement and 2/3 meat, insects/snails, eggs and so. =)
@holyfaceroll If you are talking about Tegus you should try adding fruit to his diet as well, if it's for BD then I can't tell cause I don't know them well enough. =)
@holyfaceroll beardies dont eat red meat haha but crickets yessss. they eat a lott of salads and fruits and veggies like squashhh. also they eat mealworms, waxworms phoenix worms...hahah anything really(:
It was just a suggestion :) I know rodents are not a full requirement, either. It just makes things easier for us. If she's that old, then you're obviously doing something right, anyways!!
I live in Argentina so they are everywhere in the city where I live! Just go out to the garden and pick them up, I've seen ppl in the States replacing them with roaches which you can order online if that helps. =)
No never, first cause I cant stand the little guy to suffer the way it does when a tegu gets it, then cause I cant kill one knowing she can eat another meat already in the fridge and last cause that turns them more aggressive. =)
Yeah I am going to Start a Rat breeding colony for my snakes. but i will kill the rats using a c02 Chamber. They say that is the most humane way. But rats may be a good part of my future tegus diet along with turkey and roaches. And of course fruits and vegies!
@gebris353 You can try frozen/thawed rodents. Purchase them already dead and frozen, they were killed humanely with CO2. Being an owner of reptiles and rodents, this is what we do :)
Hi and thanks for your comment, I do know in the States (and probably other countries) you do that, but she is already 12yo and wont start feeding her like that now, besides in my country (Argentina) it's not that easy/cheap to get them, but dont worry, she is ok! =)

Now that I watched the video again, it may be the camera too, Juancho is brighter, you can see his true color on the pics I posted in the forum I have as website. =)

So, in terms of feeding, you have to feed them basically what humans should eat like too?
Means like 2/3 vegetables and fruits and the rest of the time protein laden food like meat, insects, small feeding animals like mice and eggs?
