  • Where do you get snails? Are they whole or de-shelled?

  • how often do u feed your lizard? like one week just meat then another week just fruit.. something like that, or do u skip days? ya its cool to see them kill stuff but damn if u feed him like 3 mice or whatever a day.. shiiet.. thats expensive!

  • Tegu's DONT eat raw egg's

  • @cashcamer Surprise! That is their primary meal in the wild along with rodents and fruits when they can find some... =)

  • @gebris353 ppl are so weary of raw eggs but infact its extremely rare to have any food poisoning related issues with them . fear mongerers due to ignorance mostly

  • @cashcamer who the hell should cook the eggs in the wilds?

  • now im hungry......jkjkjk

  • Such a cutie <33

  • Es preciosooo!

  • your lizard so spoiled XD he looks so health. <3 one of my fav lizards on youtube

  • Nooo pobres caracoles ;_: ...pero juancho sigue siendo genial :D!

  • I want the same lezard !

  • he same color of ur granite lol

  • You should make Juancho fight rats, and film it, and put it on Youtube.

  • i miss my my tegu his name was geezy :(

  • Juancho seems to really like that treat! Such a precious lizard :)

a y otra cosa toman agua?

  • @acsnowboarder13 Yeah, I forgot tegus have where to cook them in the wild down there in Argentina. =P

  • @gebris353 exactly! people who don't really think about these things deep enough don't understand that already, the human diet is unnatural, so how can we apply OUR idea of how to eat, towards our pets, who have absolutely no care or interest in the aesthetic issues we place on food. To take this even further, gebris353, you may want to think about leaving the eggs in the shells! The shells have valuable nutrients and it is exactly how they would get it in the wild.Que dios te bendiga!

  • @gebris353 lol, yeah they also have cars. and mini highways, and tegu bars and tegu clothes. lol some people are dumb nowadays. they have no common since. And nice tegu also, ill try to get some vids up of my german beardy and sandfire beardy

  • @gebris353 haha nice

  • Hola, vuelvo a escribir.

  • what is it?? an iguana??!

  • @niky988 LOL thats a tegu they eat meat, iguanas are vegans

  • hi, i have a tegu called tyrone and hes verry well looked after, i feed him mice locust, chicks and eggs, anything else that i can feed him that wont harm him?

  • @04reeveselliott Yeah, you can try sweet and juicy fruits like cherries or plums!

  • @04reeveselliott feed him a LOT of fruit actually, in the wild they eat 66% fruit!!! they're like bears :) almost...also makes shedding smoother end there won't be little rings remaining on the fingertips wich can couse the fingertips to dry out and fall :S

  • what snails are they and where do you get them?

  • @jarqu14 Hi! They are the typical snails you can find in a backyard, not the black with hard shell ones, but always talking from Argentina where I live. =)

  • @gebris353 I have a red tegu and i was wondering what are some things you feed juancho ?

  • awwwww adorable

  • I have showed some of Juancho's adventures to a 3rd grade kids and they were so happy and they love each of the clips. Your dog also looks so friendly. It's good to have sort of a friendly clips/videos of people showing love and care to animals. What a good example for new generations! All the best.

  • thats a cool lizard

  • So, in terms of feeding, you have to feed them basically what humans should eat like too?

Means like 2/3 vegetables and fruits and the rest of the time protein laden food like meat, insects, small feeding animals like mice and eggs?

  • @Busterdrag Kinda! I would say 1/3 fruits (they probably wont eat any vegetables) since it's just a complement and 2/3 meat, insects/snails, eggs and so. =)

  • thanks :) i might be getting a bearded dragon soon, as they grow to full size could i just feed them with large crickets and occasionaly red meat?

  • @holyfaceroll If you are talking about Tegus you should try adding fruit to his diet as well, if it's for BD then I can't tell cause I don't know them well enough. =)

  • @holyfaceroll beardies dont eat red meat haha but crickets yessss. they eat a lott of salads and fruits and veggies like squashhh. also they eat mealworms, waxworms phoenix worms...hahah anything really(:

  • @holyfaceroll no you need veggies in thier diet

  • what kind of lizard is this?

  • @holyfaceroll It's a Red Tegu or Tupinambis Rufescens. =)

  • It was just a suggestion :) I know rodents are not a full requirement, either. It just makes things easier for us. If she's that old, then you're obviously doing something right, anyways!!

  • Dont worry I know it was and I appreciate it since many ppl read this looking on how to take care of their tegus and everything helps. =)

  • they taste very good.like bbq

  • man thats awesome and that looks tasty ( for a tegu of course!) Are snails hard to find and are the expensive?

  • I live in Argentina so they are everywhere in the city where I live! Just go out to the garden and pick them up, I've seen ppl in the States replacing them with roaches which you can order online if that helps. =)

  • Yah! Im going to have to start breeding roaches. For food. but have you ever fed rodents to your tegus?

  • No never, first cause I cant stand the little guy to suffer the way it does when a tegu gets it, then cause I cant kill one knowing she can eat another meat already in the fridge and last cause that turns them more aggressive. =)

  • Yeah I am going to Start a Rat breeding colony for my snakes. but i will kill the rats using a c02 Chamber. They say that is the most humane way. But rats may be a good part of my future tegus diet along with turkey and roaches. And of course fruits and vegies!

  • @gebris353 You can try frozen/thawed rodents. Purchase them already dead and frozen, they were killed humanely with CO2. Being an owner of reptiles and rodents, this is what we do :)

  • Hi and thanks for your comment, I do know in the States (and probably other countries) you do that, but she is already 12yo and wont start feeding her like that now, besides in my country (Argentina) it's not that easy/cheap to get them, but dont worry, she is ok! =)

  • Muito legal, cara! E ele parece bem saudável também. Parabéns!

  • lol i loled

  • mmm escargot!

  • can u feed them egg white also? or only the yokes?

  • Yeah, white too, I mix it all (white and yoke) with a fork so Juacho doesnt get selective. =)

  • u spoil ur pet huh? :)

  • Do you think so? xD

  • he looks happy

  • part of a healthy diet... lol

  • whats the tamest and healthiest way to feed a tegu? (ie: the healthiest life style as in size/growth rate, life span, and docile)

  • egg and snail stew (:

  • haha. atleast he liked it :p

  • lol, kinda nice mix, guess it had a pretty good taste lol. Nice vid ;)

  • Thansk! And yeah, that's the best you can offer him, crazy ah? xD

  • que clase de reptil es ,se ve que come huevo y me imagino tambien que come carne,me gustaria tener uno de esos, tengo una iguana y solo come verdutas ..=(

  • Hola!

Saludos! =)

  • juancho is a argentine black and white tegu right? (i knew he was a tegu but i have seen some b/w tegus that have been classified as red or blue tegus, {or maybe to the untrained eye they appear alike, idk})

  • Actually he is a red one, but maybe you got confused by the fact that there are two "different" red colors in the same specie (Tupinambis rufescens) a brighter one and one more brown like Juancho. =)

  • Now that I watched the video again, it may be the camera too, Juancho is brighter, you can see his true color on the pics I posted in the forum I have as website. =)

  • im just askin and kinda of curious, wat would happen if u feed him scrambled eggs or sunny side up or even hardboiled eggs? is that healthy, bad, wat?

  • Well, I've never tried those possibilities, but you can see the last one on many videos around here. However, I dont think they could be bad for them. I just prefer raw eggs since that's what tegus get in the wild and this way they don't lose their properties. =)

  • i heard from people that if they eat eggs, their poo will smell a lot worse! i mean, they stink (hello . . poop) but if they eat eggs, it will be worse!

  • Yep, that's absolutly right! But eggs are a great font of calcium which is great for their diet, so I can cope with the smell. =P

  • Oh he is absolutely gorgeous. Does he eat a lot of food during the day? I love the Tegu. You have a beautiful one. Love him

  • Thanks! Some times he eats 100g of meat, some fruits and 10 snails while being outside, so the next day he will probably eat just fruit and some snails. =D

    saludos a juancho!!!

  • Jaja, bueno! =D

  • Yummy. Where do you get all the snails? Are they native there around the yard?

  • Yeah we have them all over the place, everybody hates them cause they eat their plants but Juancho always come to the rescue! =D

  • Heyy cool tegu man, Thats certainly a.... Unusual dish lol.

but anyway he seems to like it :)

  • Thanks! The dish is, but snails and eggs is what they mostly eat in the wild here in Argentina! :D

  • yeah :D

  • Glad you like him! Juancho says thanks! :D

  • Hey does he like being held n'stuff? Like, does he tolerate it I mean? Ugh...I'm so jealous I want a huge beautiful lizard :P My little one I guess will suffice XD

  • Yeah he loves it, specially staying in my shoulder while I pet him. No need to be jealous, your beardie is great too! =)

  • That's real cool ^-^ oh and thankyou :)

  • Well she is very beautiful ...you can always tell when lizards are well taken care of ..and it does show

  • Thanks man, he is. =)

  • Yummi...=)

  • (he or she) is gorgeous! what kind is it?

  • Thanks! It has been a boy for 10 years but it seems to be a girl in fact! Still he and Juancho for me hehe. He is an Argentine Red Tegu or Tupinambis Rufescens. =)

    si me aconsejas algo mejor..

    ADIOS :)

Salu2!

  • es un ejemplar magnifico ¿que edad tiene?

  • Gracias por el cumplido! Ahora está en sus 9 años! Todo un pibe! Salu2!
