  • I wonder if S King got the idea for the Shining from this film. Seems like the two are awfully similar.

  • the 2000's are great, i can watch Alice coopers faviorite horror movie, online...for free:D

  • This is a fantastic moive. A somewhat innocent conversation with a friend about urban exploration reminded me of this film earlier tonight. This film once came free as a bonus film on a dvd that I purchased (incidentally 'House on Haunted Hill'), and i have been hooked ever since. I watch this film at least once a year without fail. It is extremely clever in the way that it creates a very eerie feeling with very little use of special effects. One that everyone should see.

  • Like the bride walks out

  • John Clifford also wrote a play: The Wabash Winning Streak, directed by Herk Harvey at the Lawrence Community Theatre, in the early 80s.

  • Herk Harvey plays "the figure"

  • See Reuter Organ, Lawrence, KS for scenes from the movie

  • jerk

  • I told my mom if shes ever seen this movie and started saying bad words at me. Then she said if i really think shes that old. did not go well.

  • Thank you so much for uploading this!!!

  • Funny - today you could shoot this entire movie on your iphone.

  • The plot twist is not what is great about this movie. It's the mood and atmosphere.

  • Love this f'n movie!

  • tHANKS!

  • I like it,Kinda Twilite Zoneish

  • I like it kinda twilite zoneish...spooky

  • Best use of pipe organs in classic sci-fi adventure.

  • if she is dead in the car from the first, how is she able to react to the living (her boss. landlady, etc) and if she is dead from the first how does she get back on the living side?

  • @AnimatiNuti I always thought this was a 1962 version of Final Destination, she cheated death and now death came back for her.

  • Maybe I've seen too many variations of this twist, but I saw it coming the moment she walked right out of that river. I kept thinking: yet another "Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge". It was creepy and desolate, though.

  • That Johnny Linden's a real catch

  • I watched this movie in order to research my role as the heroine in an indie horror film. Have to say I hope I can come close to Candace Hilligoss' talent! Beautiful plot as well.

  • Some scenes like the dead people in the bus always creep me out.

  • This movie won an award for its original story line. I am not sure if you'd call it a cult classic.

  • My favorite movie! Thanks to this film it opened the doors to horror indie films like night of the living dead.

  • Great, great movie...one of my favorites. I've always wondered why Mary was hanging out with a couple of cigarette-puffing, drag-racing chicks, though; she just didn't seem the type. Then again, in the surreal context of the entire film, Mary's presence in the car isn't such a glaringly odd plot point.

  • fucking legend, i was just about to download this movie

  • Unusual movie about a woman trapped between two worlds. Thanks for sharing it !

  • A film from a few years ago, called Dead End has exactly the same plot!

  • @stellarartwars07 There was also an early 80's flick titled 'Sole Survivor which was pretty similar to this plotwise .

  • "I'm not a psychiatrist, and perhaps I'm being a little clumsy about all of this..."

    Hahaha.

  • I love this movie. It's in your face, but the impending sense of lurking danger and paranoia is great.

  • One of the two GREATEST horror movies ever made (the other is Night of the Living Dead).

  • i have the one with the full beginning

  • i wonder what happened to the woman after the monsters got her...

  • underrated truly underrated!!!! Carnival, Night of the Living Dead and Last Man on earth, best horror movies of the 60's!!!!!

  • My favorite '60s low budget film!

  • beautiful

  • My favourite horror movie of all time, i have the soundtrack on CD, it's awesome!!!

  • I love the opening credits.

  • @LuthienofDoriath Okay... shouldn't have read this before watching the film...

  • @LuthienofDoriath He's the Tall Man from Phantasm

  • reprise at 1:09:40-1:13:45, works only because of eerie set up before, ending at same point under tree in park...then sets us up for a nasty surprise in the doc's office. a lot of genius in this little movie!

  • 37:30-40:15 is very effective mood-setting. The sunlight and lyrical bird songs only add to overall creepiness.

  • cinemashow,info #OMG

  • that is how it starts.

  • how do you make the full movie share your secret so people can stop doing part 1 part 2 and that bullshit y know

  • actress'es were much prettier back then

  • 26:00-27:00 WHAT A PERV!

  • How dweebish is this? Didn't she KNOW that NOBODY could keep up at 50-60 mph? 13:00-15:00

  • Wonderfully creepy!

  • Awful sounds quality.

  • Great psychological horror film.

  • Thank you very much. Preserving classics like this for general consumption is the honorable task of film buffs like yourself.

  • Thank you so very much for providing this classic. It is truly a keeper.

  • brilliant movie loved it :D thanks for uploading it

  • 1:47 whoops

  • how come you can make a video longer than 10 minutes?

  • @MrHicard because I'm cool like that.

  • @LuckyStrike502 you suck , now tell us the secret

  • @LuckyStrike502 Have you seen Insidious? Apparently it's supposed to be based off this.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrHicard the way I understand it, video lengths used to have no (or maybe a much higher) limit. Early joiners' accounts were left with this capability, and those of poor schmucks like us don't have it. I bet you can buy someone's account, though!

  • A great classic spooky film that still has the power to haunt.

If you are interested in a 3D conversion of Carnival of Souls, please go to my channel to see samples and a link to my website.

  • @MrHicard

if your videos get really popular (like mine) then youtube will let you upload videos longer than 15 minutes

  • does it really start in that part with the cars? I mean, you cut the titles I imagine. but the movie isn't cut, right?

  • @lu4ever That's how it starts. The title and everything starts about 2 minutes in. It's all there.

  • @LuckyStrike502 ohh I see. thanks!

  • i love the twist at the end, even though i seen it coming. Great classic movie.

  • One of the first movies that scared the crap out of me!

  • this made me LOL!!!!!

  • @clarinetchum I dislike you.

  • the best part is the face the cleaning lady makes when the girl is playing the organ for the first time. Treasure of bad acting

  • one of my favorites. you're the man for uploading this.

  • seems like a very long episode of twilight zone

  • thank you for what you do

  • Thanks for the upload. I've been meaning to see this one for a long time now. Very interesting and a-typical movie, I liked it.

  • This movie scared the shit outta me, even though I was fourteen at the time. I gotta say, low budget back then was the best.

  • One of the GREATEST horror films ever made!

  • This film captures the essence of past-life regression and effervescent longing of the restless soul perfectly. Often, those who have died live on, and those who are alive have dies, and "Carnival of Souls" is completely identifiable with both worlds. Examining a film such as this at a time when other-wordly thoughts of déjà vu or that of longing for that of life which once existed or nor longer in existence is fundimentally brilliant and poignant.

  • Does anybody know if Candace heligoss was in any other movies. I love her!

  • Great and free classic. :)

  • And it's so great that YouTube can still make money off it by sticking an ad on it.

  • Just how LONG does the creepy organ music have to keep going?!

  • @unabomberman forever!!!

  • A true cult classic!

  • This is the only movie that can double as a parody of itself.

  • OMG 0:18:20 THE eye on the building is sooo creepy LOL

  • wow, cool. i've seen this flick several times, but that's the first time I've seen that!!

  • If you liked this movie, try checking out Messiah of Evil (aka Dead People), another awesome movie that captures the dream/nightmare feel with a minimal budget. Starring the chick who played Fredo's obnoxious wife in Godfather 2! It's available on youtube. Great stuff!

  • I have this movie on tape... There's just something unsettling about it. It reminds me of a lot of nightmares I've had in the past. It may be low budget, but they got the "creepy" factor 100%...

  • @BSNFabricating a men

  • Under rated classic

  • I liked the creepy organ music. Boris Karloff's THRILLER had some weird, spooky organ music also in episodes such as DIALOGUES WITH DEATH, THE RETURN OF ANDREW BENTLEY. In the plot of this story, I don't think that the young woman was attempting to do a blasphemous black mass style parody while playing an organ at the church. She went into a trance and began to play impromtu. I didn't like that lecherous drunk who was insecure, arrogant and condescending with her. He is a pathetic stalker.

  • Thanks SO MUCH for the upload. This is one of my favorite movies xD

    THANKS THANKS THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
