I looked up Keith Green on Wikipedia to get the facts as you say. I was surprised. If you look at the same resource you will see that he was at one time a rebel, but changed his heart and life. He did not charge for concerts and gave his albums -over 100,000- away for free. He and his wife sheltered the homeless and cared for street people. Yes, I would say that he had a thrilling life of faith...and still ministers hope to people 20 years after his untimely death.
So precious men think this life is that they will kill anybody or do anything to preserve a few years. HA! Oh friend. A christian has to DIE to himself, and forget about himself, to serve others, despise his life on this earth, to serve others. I was at Jesus West Coast too in 1982. At least one of the songs that Keith sang there at Jesus West Coast...he wrote on the plane...while coming to the concert.He took out a crumbled piece of paper,and began singing.
I still have a huge respect for Keith and his 100% passion for serving Christ - it inspired me 25 years ago and still inspires me - would love to have heard/met him. But the song would be far better if he'd sung "until He softens your heart" - that's how it happens!
I got into Keith Green's music in 1983. He was a real inspiration and challenge to me as a young Christian. No Compromise is I think his best album but, as the years have passed, I've seen flaws in his understanding of how we become Christians. Although we have the power to harden our hearts, only God can soften them (Ezek 36:26)! It would have been better (but would have angered some people) if he had sung "until He softens your heart". Mind you, Keith was used to angering people!
yes but the bible says that it is not God's will that anyone should perish. So it starts with God drawing them, but it is eventually the person's decision to open up their heart, and then God opens the heavens on them. Its not His will that anyone should perish.
God's desire and His will are not the same thing. It's also likely that that passage is referring to the believers Peter was writing to. Those whom God draws come to Christ as a result of the Holy Sopirit giving them new birth, not because of any "decision to open up their heart" - we are DEAD in trespasses and sins and need to be MADE ALIVE before anything else. This is offensive to human pride but it is the clear teaching of the Bible.
But you can fall away and lose your salvation. Your heart can become hard again if you do not stay with Jesus Christ and get to doing your own things in life. God does not want anyone to go to hell, so clearly that is not in His will. He cannot force anyone to serve Him.
I'm truly saddened to read this man made "wisdom". If it's not God's WILL for anyone to go to Hell, then MAN is more powerful than God! Agreed, he does not FORCE anyone to serve Him - but He delights to GIVE us NEW HEARTS! THEN we have that God-given desire to trust Christ and live for Him! Salvation is of the LORD - NOT man! It is not the will of God for anyone to go to hell. We send ourselves there by rejection of Him. He that endures to the end will be saved. If you don't follow Christ until death, you really can't say you'll go to heaven. Having salvation doesn't mean God turns a blind eye. You either love Him or you don't.

The people who claim to be christian donot truelly believe that they have to take up a cross, they are waiting to be raptured any day now. However, the prophets and the messiahs own apostles were put in prison, stoned and put to death. As a matter of fact christians in other countries also suffer for His name sake.
I have met such christians who live in these countries and conditions where they are thrown in prison and put to death for proffessing your commitment to the Creator of Life. They know that such suffering makes them more like their Master and deliverer. Such proffessors of Christ in such "free" countries, free to be carnal, could never understand this. How could God allow them to suffer. This is true selfishness. He allowed His son to suffer, so we don't have to? Wrong!
One last thing, Ecothearcy,not only did the Son of Life say that narrow is the gate to life eternal and FEW would find it, but he also said that the last days of this age would be like the days of Noah. As I said, there are very few who are truelly one with the Son of Life. So donot be surprised at my words. This generation tuelly donnot know what it is to live like the messiah, loving Him to the point of death. They would rather be raptured that be one with He who died on a cross.
I encourage you to seek truth not theology. Theology is like words forever changing and constantly being re-defined by the popular religious culture as time elapses. Such is not the case for truth because truth does not change with elapses of time or culture, regardless.
Re-investigate scripture studying the Early Church and giving due diligence seek God for an authentic relationship with Him. But you may have to ignore the popular teaching for hundreds of years of this modern culture.

Keith knew this & was humble, as he sang about the Goodnews, the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Contemporaneous huh?....Biblical = Gospel of John. Extra-biblical = Josephus. That apart, simply because you don't believe a thing is possible doesn't mean it isn't. The Rationalist philosophical viewpoint that the supernatural & miraculous is impossible is a faith statement not provable by empirical scientific means. Have a good day. : )

Wow, you obviously haven't studied much about the guy's life. He gave free concerts and gave over 100,000 albums away FREE to people. He and has wife had a ministry that fed the homeless and did a lot of stuff that modern tv preachers don't do. So what if he had money, he invested it wisely and helped people in need.
The band was obviously in the background because there were other artists playing during the festival. He didn't have an ego. He would oftentimes get under his piano and weep

He is physically dead but spiritually alive...even his message. Perhaps you are physically alive but spiritually dead, and your message is hopeless. Your viewpoint saddens me and is only partially precious...like granite compared to diamonds. Keith's death was a seed planted and has produced generations of abundant fruit. I looked up Keith Green on Wikipedia to get the facts as you say. I was surprised. If you look at the same resource you will see that he was at one time a rebel, but changed his heart and life. He did not charge for concerts and gave his albums -over 100,000- away for free. He and his wife sheltered the homeless and cared for street people. Yes, I would say that he had a thrilling life of faith...and still ministers hope to people 20 years after his untimely death.

I was at Jesus West Coast too in 1982. At least one of the songs that Keith sang there at Jesus West Coast...he wrote on the plane...while coming to the concert.He took out a crumbled piece of paper,and began singing.

I still have a huge respect for Keith and his 100% passion for serving Christ - it inspired me 25 years ago and still inspires me - would love to have heard/met him. But the song would be far better if he'd sung "until He softens your heart" - that's how it happens!

I got into Keith Green's music in 1983. He was a real inspiration and challenge to me as a young Christian. No Compromise is I think his best album but, as the years have passed, I've seen flaws in his understanding of how we become Christians. Although we have the power to harden our hearts, only God can soften them (Ezek 36:26)! It would have been better (but would have angered some people) if he had sung "until He softens your heart". Mind you, Keith was used to angering people!

yes but the bible says that it is not God's will that anyone should perish. So it starts with God drawing them, but it is eventually the person's decision to open up their heart, and then God opens the heavens on them. Its not His will that anyone should perish.

God's desire and His will are not the same thing. It's also likely that that passage is referring to the believers Peter was writing to. Those whom God draws come to Christ as a result of the Holy Sopirit giving them new birth, not because of any "decision to open up their heart" - we are DEAD in trespasses and sins and need to be MADE ALIVE before anything else. This is offensive to human pride but it is the clear teaching of the Bible.

But you can fall away and lose your salvation. Your heart can become hard again if you do not stay with Jesus Christ and get to doing your own things in life. God does not want anyone to go to hell, so clearly that is not in His will. He cannot force anyone to serve Him.

It is not the will of God for anyone to go to hell. We send ourselves there by rejection of Him. He that endures to the end will be saved. If you don't follow Christ until death, you really can't say you'll go to heaven. Having salvation doesn't mean God turns a blind eye. You either love Him or you don't.

As I said, there are very few who are truelly one with the Son of Life. So donot be surprised at my words. I encourage you to seek truth not theology. Theology is like words forever changing and constantly being re-defined by the popular religious culture as time elapses. Such is not the case for truth because truth does not change with elapses of time or culture, regardless.
Re-investigate scripture studying the Early Church and giving due diligence seek God for an authentic relationship with Him. But you may have to ignore the popular teaching for hundreds of years of this modern culture.

Yes, but there are a small remnant of true believe who has and testify the Pentecost experience of the Early Church during the first century.
These may be condemned by the teaching of the popular church of today; however, one thing for certain these true believers have eternal life that is witnessed by the Holy Ghost that resides in them and have tesified via their mouths.

First, I want to say that no where in scriptures does it say that Christ ever pushed an argument. It was the scribes and the Pharisees that came trying to debate Him. I live in the UK and I try to respect others beliivs. that doesn't mean I agree with them. Iv'e been insulted about my belives (Christian)and at times I've cursed others (lunatic bombers) but when I've calmed down , I realise that true belivers (not crazy fanatics) are entitaled to there own opinion. As for Jim Jones and David Koresh, your not much diffrent than they are. Any one who is glad that ANYONE is DEAD isn't much diffrent than Charles Manson. Your the type that would take a semi-automatic and blow people away.

As for Keith Green he never asked for money. He helped un-wed pregnant girl off the street
and gave housing to the poor off of money he never begged for. Mr. Pycho-Guy here wouldn't
lift a finger to help anyone but himself.
