@Gargoylezbreath ... Everyone saw that it was a Mustang. Police use impounded/forfeited vehicles as unmarked cars so they blend in better. Some drug dealer, somewhere, is probably wishing he still had his mustang....
If you pause the video at 0:47 - 0:48 seconds, you can see the Police officer standing behind the passenger door, with his handheld Ka band radar. He was using the door to hold the handheld steady. It was a lot clearer before youtube compressed the quality.
That cop is not running a smart radar deployment, he should leave the HOLD button on and then wait until he sees the speeder, by then it is too late to slow down. That's what I do, anybody with a detector is getting a ticket. But I usually knock the fine down to the minimum just for the good sport of playing the game if the person isn't a dick. OK, go ahead and cue cop hating flames right... about... NOW!
Instantly. The "brain" of the radar and everything still runs, there is just no output from the antenna, but the radio waves move so fast that it takes literally a fraction of a second for the radar to hit your car and bounce back once the Hold button is released.
Not to be a hater but this radar detector is also a blocker it will give you a false reading back. aka you wont know how fast he's really going. that's why you pay $1500 for it
A dubious claim for the company to make, but I guess if someone has $1500 to blow on that, more power to them. If I had that kind of dough I wouldn't be worried about speeding tickets anyway!
I did it myself. I used to do car audio installs, so I'm used to it. Of you took your time to do it right and it should only take a couple hours. But those few hours will save you about $700. All it is routing wires and a little mounting.
Did anyone else see that was a mustang? Not a cop...

Yea, I guess he was just being lazy. How long does it take you to get a reading on a typical car when you switch from standby?

Cool! Do you guys have to hit a button to register or log the speed after you get a reading like on a laser gun?
logmeindog 3 years ago
No, not in my state, we just read the display and go with the fastest speed you were going.

sure ya do

It only blocks laser, not radar.

That is just amazing.......I REALLY need to have this system installed. Best range for detection I have ever seen.

Sweet!! Did you install yourself? or you had it professionally installed? I heard it takes a lot of labor on installation.
