@NinjaPertwee Most 450 size helicopters will fly about 8 to 10 minutes depending on their weight and the choice of battery. Most fly with 2200mah 20c or 1800mah 20c and you'll get about 10 minutes before it will be dead.

I was responding to someone who quite specifically made clear he was not going to fly aggressive 3D ('whip it all over the place') and asked what the maximum (!) flight time was going to be.

After 10 minutes of flight a 1800mah 20c pack will be too dead to fly and most ESCs will force the heli down after about 8-10 full minutes of flight.

These little machines perform manuvers that full size craft will never have the power-to-weight or strength-to-weight ratio to do. @clannon lol absolutely wrong. it's just the gas switch that reverse while being down from the center. the middle position is 0° (no thrust) for blades and the throttle is always set to full rpm or other close.

@Nightrapture To clarify: The left stick (in mode 2) up/down controls both collective pitch and throttle. In idle-up on an electric, the throttle is usually flat across at 90-100%. Mid-stick is 0 pitch, on this heli high stick is around 13 degrees and low stick is around -13 degress, allowing for inverted flight and full reversal of lift. No switches are thrown in flight, except at the beginning and end.

@Jduc750 This type of flying won't affect the life span of his lipos in the least. They're rated at 30c, so 2.2 x 30c = 66 amp discharge rate. I'd say the max amps he's pulling is 40. Therefor, the batteries aren't even close to their max discharge, and aren't being pushed far enough to shorten their life span.
