  • Even though I have season 6 on DVD, I would love to see video postings of Georgia Rae Mahoney here. Unfortunately the DVD's are copy protected and I don't have the technology to bypass it and post these videos myself.

  • What was the song title in the opening scene of this episode?

  • somebody knows were i can find subtitles in spanish for this serie? i can`t find it ! or a translator for the subtitles in english, i really need it! thanks, greetings from argentina!

  • "Homicide : Life on the street" Just the greatest show with unbelievable actors

  • the best show ever on TV !!!

  • Worst (best) bit of all this: Pembleton terrified, screaming "My partner's been shot!", and Tim looking so confused, and trying to *reassure* Frank.

    "No I'm okay I'm okay I'm okay....."

  • So, stumbling across your collection of clips again the other day inspired me to re-watch a few episodes on DVD this weekend, including this 2-episode arc.

I'll always kind of resent that the series "went there" with the gun battles etc, but the flip side is we got the superb acting of these scenes. "I'm not shot--I'm wearing my vest"...geez, gives me chills.

Anyway, thanks again for sharing parts of "The Best Damn Show on TV" with us. :)

  • @foolyoulovesomehow generally i agree with you on the gun battles but one of the things Homicide did so well was show how easy it is for these cops to be lulled into a sense of safety, remember in season 5 frank's "the gun has nothing to do with the job" and you can see his point. It makes it all the more sad and human when they show how ill prepared they are for the sudden violence--hardly better off than civilians. so sad and so well done!

  • @foolyoulovesomehow i agree with the "vest" quote too--him yelling "help me" to frank and Frank screaming "somebody!" still gives me goosebumps. Frank just doesn't panic like that.

  • I know I am in teh minority here but I think that Luther was still one of the best actors on this show next to Frank,Lewis and Kellerman-teh rest of the show was just scenery-esp that little shit Barnfather and fat ass Gafnee.

  • Can anyone make out any of what Frank's saying around 1:36--1:40?

  • pipandkip--I think he's saying "Stick with me" again, but beyond that, I'm not sure...

  • only detective munch is in the buissnes in nyc i miss all them

  • These twp episodes made me cry like a baby.

  • I feel sorry for Bayliss

  • This clip gets to me alot, and why did no one help at first but Munch? Poor Tim, Frank really did have brotherly love for him, despite his denial.

  • aahh you've posted so many classic clips! My parents own the entire series on DVD, but they live across the country from me... thanks for helping me get my fix until I go visit them at Christmas ;)

  • (sorry that last comment was in reply to a post down the page... geez, i'm sorry for replying to so many of your videos in one night - i just can't pull myself away from the awesome hlotsness.)

  • Haha don't worry, it went in as a reply if you click "See all Comments", it shows which you were replying to. Don't worry about commenting, this show is awesome!

  • Everyone was perfect in Fallen Heroes. Pembleton was so amazingly heartbreaking, Tim just perfect asking if they got him even after he was shot, that look on Lewis's face. I loved Kellerman in that part - how he knelt down near Tim then dashed off after the gunman - so cool. I actually started hating Stivers after the sixth season but she was still so cool in Fallen Heroes when she swept everything off the table in the beginning. Thanks for posting!!

  • could someone please post the scene where Pembleton and Falsone are interrogating Kellerman about the Mahoney shooting?

  • I liked Luther Mahoney he was a great bad guy-they should have kept him on the show longer.

  • OMG this is so sad... :'(

    I love Pembleton and Beyliss!

HLotS is possibly the best show EVER!

  • i watched the show so much when my children were babies that my sons imaginary friend was named Baltimore. i wonder were he got that from. i watch it on Slueth TV now

  • That's adorable. :)

  • 2 of the best actors damn I wish this show was still on.

  • Kellerman leaves in disgrace and Frank can't take the job anymore. Bayliss would return in the season premiere to a renovated squad room. Kellerman would become a P.I. and return for one episode, angering his former colleagues and G.

  • It wouldn't have lasted much longer than it did. As great as this show was, Season 7(the final season) was a mere shadow of the previous seasons. They brought in that model chick Michael Michelle(who wasn't anywhere close to being believable as a homicide cop) and gave Falsone and Ballard far too much screen time. The show sold out its final season.

  • IN PLAIN ENGLISH,SEASON 7 was downright awful.

  • You know, I actually started liking Shep when they mellowed the stupid "Beauty queen turned cop" thing. When you get over that she's a strong character. As far as Ballard goes, I thought I could hate no character more until they brought in Falsone. Every time that major jerk came on screen I'd yell at the screen. (Everything is Rocky Horror at the theatre for me. lol.)

  • Why couldn't this have been on for 15 years instead of crap like ER?

  • I agree with your assessment. Homicide was a far better show. Have you read the book? It covers the real Baltimore Homicide Unit through a very bloody 1988. Several of the real officers are depicted in the characteristics of the real detectives from 1988. Its a great book. The writer was a Baltimore Sun reporter that was given a year long assignment to ride with the Homicide unit.

  • I like the way both Tim's nor Frank's near-death experiences are shown. You would expect that two of the main characters of the series would suffer 'prettily', in silence, looking dignified, however both characters look almost grotesque as they fight death at their turns. Frank was shaking like something inhuman and Tim is in sheer terror, his breath is so intense that you can almost hear his lungs flooded with blood. Just another piece of reality that the series presented unsparingly.

  • Wonderfully put, and so true. The writing and acting are amazing in this show. And Tim's sheer terror just makes it all the more heart-breaking, and Frank's shaking was just really unnerving.

  • Bayliss died? :O :(

  • Nope.

  • That's good :)

  • such good acting you get wrapped up in the emotion

  • This was also the last EP with Reed Diamond. Having him and Andre leave at the same time was a death blow. That said, if they had used Belzer and Clark Johnson a lot more than they did in season 7, season 7 still could have been great. Instead, it became the Jon Seda/Michael Michelle show. Anyone got a bucket?

  • Reed Diamond also came in during season 7 for the two parter "Kellerman: P.I", but yeah, I agree, his absence from the show was also a huge blow to the overall quality. And Jon Seda and Michael Michelle? Ugh. They were not right for the show at all.

And not only did they underuse Belzer and Johnson during season 7, but they misused them as well. Lewis became more or less a jerk, and Belzer didn't have any good storylines. They underused Secor as well- he had about 1/4 the scenes he usually has.

  • Agreed. And firing Melissa Leo in Season five didn't help either. There's just nothing dumber than a network exec. Diamond finally had a good regular gig on "journeyman" and they canned that show too..

  • YES, I thought I'd be able to deal with Kellerman's leave (LOVE him), as I assumed we'd get more Timmy and Munch, but nope. :( Still, I liked Bayliss's sexuality storyline. I loved 'Kellerman, PI' and I so wanted him to kick Stivers's or Falsone's ass, but at least he scolded her and Bayliss defended him (am I really the only one slashing Kellerman/Bayliss?). Thanks for the upload!

  • It's been 10 years since that episode and I remember it all.

  • Yes me too! But I discovered it waaaay too late, as in Belgium it was only broadcast really late on Sunday night, on some 'smaller' channel, so I only discovered it during season 5 or so... I'd like to see it all from the beginning :(

  • This scene gets me every time--Frank's sweetness, and Tim repeating "I'm okay." It's also one of the few times in the show we see Frank actually lose control, which is equally hard. Thanks for uploading!

  • Frank Pembleton is legend, one of the all time great TV charchters.

  • I agree.

  • YES!!!

  • This and Frank's stroke go down as the two toughest-to-watch scenes in the series history. In my humble opinion...

  • I always thought this was one of the most powerful scenes on the show. Thanks for posting!
