I have 2 x ati radeon 4870. but i want 2 x ati radeon 4870x2. I have 750 watts of power. Can is just remove the 4870 and replace it with 4870x2 Or do i need some extra things in order to install it properly? HELP PLEASE :(

3870 X2 and 9800 GTX are about the same. nVidia has different arhitecture. GTX 260 is also a lot newer card than 3870 X2.

And the HD 3870 seems to be as fast as a HD 5670, because in test with same processor, same RAM and same OS, there's nearly no difference between these two. So a HD 5670 is slower than a 9800GTX or a HD 5670? Sounds strange :P

ATi is a lot older than nVidia. Back in 2003-2005 ATi cards were a lot faster than nVidia's (Radeon 2000 series VS GeForce 7000 series). But when GF 8000 series came out in 2006 ATi fell a little bit behind in performance. If they get their DX11 cards out before nVidia the same thing that was in 2004 will recur.

Im next going to get two GT300 cards in SLi, just because they run F@H a lot faster than ATi and this is what I basically do with my computer...

I've always had great experiences with ATi cards, drivers are stable and optimised, awesome performance in games and benchmarks.

GTX 285 SLi is definately faster than one 4870 X2. I'd recommend you to stay with two 285's because quad crossfire doesn't scale very well in most applications.

The smartest thing that you could do is that you keep your 285's. They should be more than enough to run all games at maximum settings with 60FPS+.

GTX 285 SLi can not have lower FPS in Crysis compared to 4870 X2, they should have about double. Do you have SLi bridge connected correctly? Did you enabled SLi after SLi-ing the cards? What OS are you using?

Driver support for XP 64bit has always been bad, I'd recommend you to get Vista 64bit or Windows 7.

Yes, you should be getting about 5 times more FPS than 22 on these settings. Best would be if you do a clean install of Windows 7 64bit and install the latest motherboard and graphics drivers.

I'm going to change to Win 7 when it's offically released (full version). When using a high-end system there's not much difference between the speeds of Vista and 7... in games there's basically no difference in FPS, same with benchmarks.

No, if the response time is smaller it's better (2ms is currently the best). Refresh rate is good until it's 60hz+, human eye can't see over 60 FPS anyways (hz shows basically how many FPS the monitor can display.)

The spearated PhysX card will give better performance in games that support PhysX. Other card(s) would be used to run the game and the PhysX card would be used to do physX calculations.

Yes all 3 cards can be GTX 280's and one can be for PhysX. You can run only one card for PhysX (not SLi), even a 8600 GT is enough to run PhysX, 9600/8800/9800 GT would be a waste.
