Just buy some dry ice and put it in a bucket of water. It'll give you a much "cooler" effect since the fog stays on the ground due to low temperature air not rising.

You could make this into an awesome fog machine that produced low lying fog by attaching some vinyl tube to the top of the soda bottle, and piping the vapor through a bowl, tub, cooler of ice, or dry ice. Make sure to put the vinyl tube in the container of your ice so that it pumps the vapor out through the bottom. Essentially a really cheap heat exchanger. This will make the fog act more like natural fog, and will tend to lie low on the surrounding surfaces.

Got a better fog machine. If you have a leafblower, take off the air cleaner and the other side, pour some carburator cleaner fluid into the throttle. Just be carefull, mine a lot of smoke came out but with my friend a flame came out.

Glycerine is not that cheap. The cheapest I found was $16 for a pint. This also takes a good while to heat up. It's a lot easier just to buy a small fog machine.

Two thing:. A 1/3 mixture of Glycerine WILL clog your fog machine after a few hours of use. Learned that one the hard way. Two: After some research, I def. would NOT use this with and undefined heat source. This mixture can become airborne formaldehyde if over heated. This is why fog machines have a defined temperature zone between 250 F-290 F, instead of and open flame. FYI Candle flames reach temps of up to 1400F

Makes me wish I didnt shell out $30 for a "low lying fogger" that has an ice compartment in the front to cool down the fog. Sure it works inside. But outside, no way. I even bought dry ice for it. Still no way. So dry ice and a dryer hose stuck through a foam cooler filled with ice, still no luck. Man living near the windy city just pisses me off. No fog machines, no rc helicopters or planes except a couple days a year. next halloweeen I am just doing this instead.
