I absolutely Love Freddie Mercury but think that George Michael just sounds better singing this song. Even tho it is Freddy's song but George just kicked it out of the ball park! He just sounded stronger than Freddy.
I just have to give a blanket statment about the comments.......Put down the Bong!!!!! Freddie is the best fuckin singer EVER!!!!! GB cant hold a candle to Freddie!!! No way can he ever even imagine to hit the notes Freddie's did!!! R I P Freddie!!! We Miss you!!!!!
Freddie is more powerful, but George is very smooth. This is a great cover tune for George, although I do miss Freddie's very strong mid-range. George wouldn't fare so well on the harder Queen material. All that said, there's something about the first note Freddie hits that just sounds -- for lack of a better word -- legendary.
I think this vid show the superiority of Freddie even though GM, at least in my opinion, is one out of few who actually have the ability to sing queensongs.
I LOVE Freddie but there is something about GM's version which is ever so slightly better. The best cover I have ever heard. Having said that I didn't like his cover of These are the days of our lives but I loved his cover of 39. Maybe you could do a video combining George's 39 and Freedie's or Brian's
yea i love his 39' aswell because he grew up sining it and really goes for it like freddie would i luved this song in rock montreal it was my favorite queen concert so far.
about future videos i have completed one to mark the 17th anniversary of his deat and am working on a dedicated duet
i have planned a 39' video with brian, freddie and george micheal with an acompanied video instead of still images
@usi123 I'd have to agree. I cant watch GM's version enuff, and post it to my FB page at least 1x a month. But honestly, Freddie had SOOO much stage presence, he could get a 90yo up on his feet, dancin away!! :-)
@larabina34 That is true. The adrenalin that a Freddie live performance induced cannot be duplicated by any artist! Definitely the best live performer in history
What a terrible mix - The songs are in different keys!!

I like GM`s voice better than the one of Freddie, atleast in this sing, but they are both great singers on the same level with different voices.
<3 GM <3 Freddie

George Michael is good, but Freddie is Freddie. This is his song, and all GM can do is borrow it.
GM's voice just doesn't have the same depth that Freddie's does.
