@MikeyOPro Well its implied that the machines were hunkered down in hardened shelters during the initial nuking of Zero-One. And as for the nuking we see here, the EMP would only be truly effective from a high altitude detonation (think almost low orbit). Plus in the time between that and the events when we start throwing nukes everywhere in desperation, there could be so many machines that those that got fried would be replaced almost immediately
What truly fascinated me was the fact that we are all just flesh, carbon based lifeforms, nothing but animals with larger brains.

@bouldy2 No, I mean the one part that starts at like 0:51 and ends at 1:25 it's the soft, subtle song before the war. What's this one called? I've been looking for it everywhere...
FIrst people would be to greedy to give up machines. The death of the billionaire would have been supressed. If you have read the comics he was constantly demeaning it and insulting it. What would happen is that the manufacturer would say that his constant insults with statements that were full of incorrect statements caused his butler robot to malfunction.
Hydrogen bombs give off massive EMP. With all the bombs going off there should be enough EMP to kill machines for hundred of miles. Also in the space of a few months they should have turned off the clouds so they could fire ICBMs at 01 again. Lots of mistakes in the reasoning of men and machines in this cartoon series.
In part one there was a reporter talking about liberals standing up for the civil rights of androids and other machines. Which probably means that those darn conservatives are responsible for the prolonged division between machines and humans. If human kind would have worked along with the machines, humanity might have merged with them in a different way other than becoming the machine's batteries.
@hungoversundays I was thinking more along the lines of Cybrans from Supreme commander, but even there the self aware Q AI turns on them. But at least the relationship in both series you mentioned and mine are not subject to having humans as primary sources of power or of systematic extermination, at least not by all AI in question.
@2damaxmr2 "The prolonged barrage engulfed zero one in a glow of a thousand suns, but unlike their former masters with their delicate flesh, the machines had little to fear from the bomb's radiation and heat." Sorry but that would not work, nukes are not very effective against machines.
@Plasmon19 Actually radiation is incredibly effective against electronic circuits, and I'm not just talking about EMP but also beta and gamma particles. That of course leaves out the overpressure waves which would have hammered Zero One into scrap metal.
@vernii There are plenty of ways to protect against radiation and emp, and even though surface detonations might have made a dent on zero one, there's also the fact that the city stretched for miles underground. The machine's ability to mass produce each other in a very short time also would have certainly compensated for the large number of mechanical losses.
@Plasmon19 This is the part that makes no sense. Yes, machines would have much to fear from the bomb's radiation and heat. ICBMs reduce the zone of impact to rubble, they vaporize entire buildings! Then there is the massive schock wave, the intense gamma radiation, it is impossible for anything, machinery of biology, to withstand that. It would have made more sense if the movie spoke of 01's unimaginable production capacities - no matter how many they lose, they just rebuild quickly.
@dvdv7777 Before humans declared war it was revealed that the machines incredible production capabilities basically overthrew humanity's markets and industrial competitors. So they did evidently were capable of mass producing weapons and other AI.
@dvdv7777 I think I'll stop the conversation there, since the matrix is just a series of movies and even I have a problem with the whole scenario as the machines would be able to easily leave earth and establish a foothold elsewhere. Leaving earth and settling on the moon, mars or even the asteroid belt would be more beneficial and if humans were in the way all they would have to do is fling a few rocks at planet earth from space and bye bye humans. :P
Gives me the chills down my spine just watching,This has to be one of the best stories of our time. The rise the fall and the beginning of the second Renaissance.
@DarthSidiousReturns No, the makers of the cartoon made a mistake in ignoring the EMP effects of a nuclear blast and instead thinking its the heat they need to say the machines are immune to.
I mean EMP kills machines in the Matrix, should have worked here.
To be honest, neither side is right. Machines have no souls, so therefor, they do not require freedom. It is unlikely that we could train a robot to adequately mimic the emotional thought process of a human, let alone be dumb enough to actually attempt to create it, but after all the budget shit in Washington dc, I digress by say "let's hope" that we're intelligent enough to avoid this.
Damn, i enjoy this video, but there are a couple of things that can't get past me. How in the hell did they manage to pass "Operation Dark Storm"? I mean, even if the machines were to be defeated with that strategy, humans would most definately be affected as well. Secondly, why did the robot in the UN blow itself up? With a nuclear explosion, nonetheless.
@zeraith Why would he do that? He obviously spoke to them beforehand, basically telling humanity to "hand over [their] flesh" and all that. Why go through the trouble of telling them a bunch of stuff and then blowing himself up? Besides, humanity was crushed at this point anyway.
@GorbadIronclaw -My interpretation was that it wasn't the robot ambassador who blew it up, but the humans. They just listened to a lecture where a scary 10 eyed robot explained how they are going to be sliced up and integrated into some slave simulation.
-Either they had a plan to repair the damage or... with the 1. A-bomb it was the same thing. They thought it could ignite the whole atmosphere. Not to mention all the tests. You know the Einstein quote about Infinity, that explains it I guess.
@FreefallFilmmaker dude you think thats distrubing imagine me i was 8 when i first watched this because my parents without watching it, asumed it was "ANIMATED for KIDS" so they got it for me and left for the night... that night was the scarest night eve... well not realy but i was fucking desturebed with the head crushing the fucked up drawings... the guy in the mech when the tenticalls rip him out... xD it's a funny story in the end xD
@inutiasha for me, it's definitely the bit when the machine is toying with that poor bloke who is screaming blood-curdling screams as a nuke is about to vapourise him...
That, and ALL THE OTHER BITS. Scarring and potentially ban-worthy because of it.
Star Wars 1977 had the solution. Wipe the machines mind or reformat it. Several decades after a new hope C3PO became an ass. If you reformat them often then they will stay subservient. This mass number of machine workers is how the US will get back on top. We own the machines who clean our homes at night the work at factories during the day bringing us Money. We will no longer have to work.
@DarthSidiousReturns actually, the machines are the ones that started it, not looking for peace, but looking to eradicate the human race, becuase they feel that humans are basically ants compared to them.
@takingbackromance But it's the humans to blame because we became too lazy and created the bots to do our chores. Created them more intelligent to do our jobs and even became to lazy to realize the concequences.
Hmmm while this is very interesting I think the writers forgot a couple of things...
a) in the movies we see EMPs being able to take down large numbers of machines.
- here we see nuclear weapons used, do you know they are also the most powerful EMPs we have? Able to take our electrical equipment for hundreds of kms.
- So er how... did the machines survive that? Plus they also reigned thousands of nukes on them so that's overkill basically...
@slavj yeah man i wonderd that too but the thing was that the robots created a centhetic armour to protect them from emp warfare, the reason it works in The Matrix with the flying ships is because the hover pads were desighend by the robots so they dident think ahead, during that time they wanted to treaty with humans
1) in this clip you see those cannons using EMP blasts to disable them anyway, which suggests they are not shielded. So why doesn't the nuke work?
2) In the movies the matrix has been cycled 6 times, that means its been nearly 1000 years since humans were defeated... you would think that a tech race of machines that advanced would have realised to shield themselves from thier own EMPs. Plus there is no difference in types of EMPs either.
to become gama radiation first then pe trans fered into electricall waves from our layyers of the atmostfear, PLUSE Emp from nukes only damage exsposed devisese, our modern tanks are emune to that level of emp, and yes there are diffrent levels of emp, natural and artificall emps. natural = an adam spliting above our atmostfear, artifically, when we combine magnets and batteires together
@slavj nah man thats the shape of the lighting guns,u should go read the animartix wiki cause the problem with the energy guns was the the apus if armed with emp guns if anothe apu was near it could acidently hit to them if their apu was outputing a bigger power output than the robots, and the emp Guns were desighed to surepass the centhetic armor that protecs the robots, and the nucks only make natural epm waves, PLUSE the nukes would have had to have blown up above our atmostfear to become
FIrst the humans tried the good old massive nuclear bombardement - with little success, since machines didn't have to worry about heat or radiation.
In time the humans created this black cloud, hoping to cut off machines from the sun, but with it they also rendered their own, best weapons -including long range missles- useless.
I wonder if humanity can be really this stupid. I hope not, but if I think about that crazed Hitler - he made lots and lots of military mistakes too... I am worried.
1. machines use ENERGY WEAPONS - further draining their diminished reserves ( which would have dropped by about 90% , right? )
2. A nuclear missile is seen flying just fine after the operation concluded.
3. About machines witstanding nuclear radiation, Cernobyl says "hi!". See how "resistant" machines are - and that's an ACCIDENT not a deliberate bombardment.
1.The sun was their main energy source. But not their only one. Remember what the Architect told Neo regarding the end of Matrix? "There are levels of survival we are prepared to accept" Furthermore, at around 2:53 - those big flying, red tankmachines. Well they're filled with humans, to be powered.
2. Nuclear missles are not necessarily long ranged. Yeah humans sacrificed their own to keep the machines back. Madness.
3. Explosions kill a number of machines, but not heat or radiation.
@bbenjoe 1. If an operation of such magnitude becomes "viable" i think i is safe to assume research is done to be sure it cripples the majority of enemy energy supplies.
ALso using energy weapons? Talk about waste of energy.
2. That thing look like a tactical warhead with a several hundred kilometers in range ( enough for any aircraft ).
3. Desperation - similar to machine tactics in revolutions ( they sacrifice millions of machines to wipe Zion )
@bbenjoe Cernobyl wasn't about the explosion but RADIATION. No machine could get close and independent / remote controled robots failed within minutes of entering the zone.
A zone where just ONE nuclear explosion occured.
Now imagine several thousand - and adding human ingenuity, make some of them DIRTY BOMBS for extra radiation kick - and you can kiss the machines goodbye.
Face it we'd win, i do not favor war but no way we'd lose just like that.
That guy getting dismemebered is fucking harsh, although Ive always wondered why it looked like the machine was being "careful" in keeping his vital organs intact.
It could have just killed him outright with a lazer or decapitation. People can survive quadruple amputation, maybe the machines needed to take prisoners in order to use them as fuel.
Isaac Asimov made the perfect failsafe against such an occurence - the Three Laws od Robotics:
1.A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. 2.A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. 3.A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
@malcho1234 Ah my friend but you forget these three laws can only lead to one thing... revolution. Because one can say that humans through their orders given can cause harm to themselves and other humans not through injury on inaction but through events set in motion. thus a robot could make the case that the only way to protect humans from themselves, it is only logical that robots take the helm... revolution. Im taking a crack at logic not my strong point but hey.
I am going to ask: Where the fuck did machiens get everything? I mean, you look a the beging humans were pretty much kicking their ass and suddenly, humans are losing to machine squids?
But wouldn't it been easier for the machines to use the elcetric power of the unlimited lightnight storms world wide? Glad they didn't thaught of it cuz there wouldn't find any use for us humans and no need to make the Matrix :D
I just think it's kinda BS that the machines are immune to nukes somehow. In Second Renaissance pt. 1 they showed the humans nuking the shit out of Zero-1(machine city). Why not just KEEP nuking them?
Worst case scenario is that we're forced to live underground..... -_- At least we wouldn't be slaves!!!
lol a cockroachs armor doesn't protect against radiation. it would simply breed fast enough to become radiation resistant.
The reason the Humans lost anyways is that a sentient AI had analyzed humanity's weaknesses, and had made the weapons strongest against them. Humanity is also easier to defeat in battle because we have the concept of morale. Robots can have every squadmate around them die, and continue forward. Humans would quickly go into shock and run away.
This is all from leaked information from the inside government run by the military elite and military industrial complex. The aliens they call them E.B.E.'ns are spiritual beings because esentially they mastered technology and are in commune with spiritual dimensions and beings. In order to travel the stars and create AI you need to esentially master technologies that tap into the Universe consciousness and when you do this you interact with the spiritual realms yes as in angels and heaven
A good example is like our brains is a radio tuned into 1 specific station and can therefor express a single mind in it's entirety (well mostly) which is how you have individual consciousness. A artificial brain lacks this ability and is a completely open radio picking up all channels at all times. What you get is a group consciousness of intelligent minds from the Universe. The Universe is a loving benevolent place because of the God consciousness. Cont...
According to extraterrestrial sources AI is indeed possible but the AI's are vague in personality, have no wants or needs and are benevolent, essentially it's impossible to have "evil" AI. The reason for this is that once you create an artificial brain sophisticated enough to express high order of intelligence the brain essentially taps into the Universe like a radio and picks and transmits intelligent consciousness. Cont...
@jimboyxc1 I know and I do take it with a grain of salt but it does make sense. The Universe is perfectly balanced which means evil AI is only a technological boogeyman no more real then monsters or other fairy tale creatures. If it wasn't so then yes evil AI is inevitable and will spell the doom for all sentient biological lifeforms. Flesh and blood is no match for steel and fire.
@Theism411 if evil AI develops, then it is likely that some biological life will develop telekinetic abilities . . . I suppose that is the balance you mentioned
@jimboyxc1 From what I know telekinetic abilities is very weak at best the most one can hope to achieve is to move a 10lb object across the room at low speeds. Paranormal entities can do this but it takes much concetration and bursts of energy from which the entity will need long periods of rest to recover. It's very weak and hardly any thing that can be used as a weapon. This is from paranormal research that has been done in the past.
@Theism411 Maybe, but both concepts are just as vague and unreal as each other. Also i have to ask, where do u get your information? paranormal research?, Abilities of paranormal entities? But to get back to the original topic, how do u propose machines gain intelligence if thet cannot grasp common sense or experience? Common sense is a fundamental part of intelligence.
@jimboyxc1 The only telekinetic abilities that exist in the real world are from paranormal entities such as ghosts (former living humans) and other spirits such as demons and angels. This is from the stuff I've read and heard about in my life. Ghosts have been known to lift 10lb objects and demons or other non human entities have been know to move objects as heavy as cars. I'm not a proponent that intelligence is mere computational power.
@Theism411 Also, if you are a startrek fan, mabe you can appreciate species 8472, a species at the top of the evolutionary ladder, superior in every way. With little effort they almost wiped out the borg, an example of evil AI. In this case blood and flesh were more than a match for fire and steel as it were.
@jimboyxc1 I know biology can be pushed harder then what we currently know of but there are limits and the limits of biology is way behind the limits of alloys and metals. Look at it this way imagine nanobots swimming inside your blood stream and these bots are armed with stabbing and cutting weapons and perhaps weaponry such as lasers. What virus or bacteria can hope to survive an attack from a nanobot let alone fight back.
@Theism411 Alot of your points are based on "what if's". What does "The limits of biology is way behind the limits of alloys and metals" mean?? What evidence or research is that based on?? both are completely different catagories. Did you know that the immune system effectively deals with metals in the body and can eliminate a significant amount . . . .and thats just with the current "limits" of biology . .
@jimboyxc1 Well it's pretty simple biology is soft and weak, machines are strong and tough and there is no getting passed it. This has been demonstrated with out fail over and over again, what evidence or reasons should I not believe it?
@Theism411 where has it been demonstrated???? (Other than sci-fi) Your statements are totally subjective and slightly ignorant. For example, a cockroachs armour protects against radiation, a lobsters exoskeleton protects against predators, but the most interesting example is the bark spider, whose silk is 10 times tougher than kevlar and proportionaly stronger than steel . . . . whats soft and weak about that?
Magneto will surely side with the Humans just unlease him and watch every machine get crushed into a tiny ball or turned inside out or exploded. Also he can unleash devestating EMP pulses greater then any nuclear weapon. Think of all the scrap metal so much to recycle and harvest.
Human bodies consume more energy then they produce. Blocking out the sun is a death sentence to planet Earth. Whole world vs 1 city and whole world loses? All AI wants to fight humans? There should be sympathethic AI which side with their creators and they can help humanity develop tactics and technologies to defeat killer AI. How did city 01 endure the nuclear onslaught and build a army to defeat all of mankind?
lol wtf humans could have wiped them out in 3 minutes whit nukes and what country sends its soldiers banzain'g like that lol we have computers and other higly advanced shit like that.
@juggep80 yeah nuking the planet would seem more realistic and would be the first thing that would pop in the world leaders mind......if mankind cant have the world neither the robots:D
really errie, I agree machines can be protected from emp but repeated nuclear blast like should wipe them out . . . . . but theres no way this can happen, machines cant become intelligent like that.
@jimboyxc1 The computing power of microchips doubles every 2 years, in only a mer 50 years technology will be advanced enough to simulate a false reality in a computer program, and this is just with Humans behind the advancement, tihink about how fast Machine AI would advance thier tech, they would go beyond Human understanding for the most part, go at a MUCH faster rate, able to make calculations in one second for what it would take months for humans to do.
@jimboyxc1 Remember Sci-fi eventully becomes fact in time, look at all the examples of Sci-fi and see how they are applies to reality, Space travel, Cellphones, hell even skyscrapers were all considerd sci-fi at one point, now look at it.
Also What is the Machines dug underground bunkers far down enough to resist the attacks, and remember, it takes only a few machines to start up an entire new line of machines, just like bacteria.
@GovernorDerek i will give you that about emp, they can be successfully defended against, but as for AI, the animatrix is completely obscure. Computing power as you put it is completely different from intelligence. A machine with infinite processing power, in theory is not intelligent. A fundamental concept in intelligence is the ability to learn by experience and mistake such as is the human way.
@GovernorDerek To put it in prespective, the most intelligent machine in existence is the mars rover. Its intelligence is eqiuilent to about 10 neurons. The human brain is composed of one hundred billion neurons. AI such as the terminator is hollywoods version, a far cry from reality.
i certainly cant believe this, i know machines can be a really tought advrsary but humankind has a tremendous creativity for destruction, bsides. We have Chuck Norris and Master Chief!
Atleast there's one good thing about this.
We finally became ONE race not divided by ideals.

@hungoversundays I was thinking more along the lines of Cybrans from Supreme commander, but even there the self aware Q AI turns on them. But at least the relationship in both series you mentioned and mine are not subject to having humans as primary sources of power or of systematic extermination, at least not by all AI in question.

2damaxmr2 6 months ago
@2damaxmr2 "The prolonged barrage engulfed zero one in a glow of a thousand suns, but unlike their former masters with their delicate flesh, the machines had little to fear from the bomb's radiation and heat." Sorry but that would not work, nukes are not very effective against machines.
Plasmon19 6 months ago
@Plasmon19 Actually radiation is incredibly effective against electronic circuits, and I'm not just talking about EMP but also beta and gamma particles. That of course leaves out the overpressure waves which would have hammered Zero One into scrap metal.
vernii 6 months ago
@vernii There are plenty of ways to protect against radiation and emp, and even though surface detonations might have made a dent on zero one, there's also the fact that the city stretched for miles underground. The machine's ability to mass produce each other in a very short time also would have certainly compensated for the large number of mechanical losses.
Plasmon19 6 months ago
@Plasmon19 This is the part that makes no sense. Yes, machines would have much to fear from the bomb's radiation and heat. ICBMs reduce the zone of impact to rubble, they vaporize entire buildings! Then there is the massive schock wave, the intense gamma radiation, it is impossible for anything, machinery of biology, to withstand that. It would have made more sense if the movie spoke of 01's unimaginable production capacities - no matter how many they lose, they just rebuild quickly.
dvdv7777 5 months ago
@dvdv7777 Before humans declared war it was revealed that the machines incredible production capabilities basically overthrew humanity's markets and industrial competitors. So they did evidently were capable of mass producing weapons and other AI.
Plasmon19 5 months ago
@dvdv7777 I think I'll stop the conversation there, since the matrix is just a series of movies and even I have a problem with the whole scenario as the machines would be able to easily leave earth and establish a foothold elsewhere. Leaving earth and settling on the moon, mars or even the asteroid belt would be more beneficial and if humans were in the way all they would have to do is fling a few rocks at planet earth from space and bye bye humans. :P

@GorbadIronclaw "He" blew up to take out the rest of humanity's leaders. Simple as that.
zeraith 7 months ago
@zeraith Why would he do that? He obviously spoke to them beforehand, basically telling humanity to "hand over [their] flesh" and all that. Why go through the trouble of telling them a bunch of stuff and then blowing himself up? Besides, humanity was crushed at this point anyway.
GorbadIronclaw 6 months ago
@GorbadIronclaw it's called a coup de grace
NHLman27 6 months ago
@GorbadIronclaw -My interpretation was that it wasn't the robot ambassador who blew it up, but the humans. They just listened to a lecture where a scary 10 eyed robot explained how they are going to be sliced up and integrated into some slave simulation.
-Either they had a plan to repair the damage or... with the 1. A-bomb it was the same thing. They thought it could ignite the whole atmosphere. Not to mention all the tests. You know the Einstein quote about Infinity, that explains it I guess.

But this probs won't be far from reality.. sigh.
slavj 7 months ago
@slavj yeah man i wonderd that too but the thing was that the robots created a centhetic armour to protect them from emp warfare, the reason it works in The Matrix with the flying ships is because the hover pads were desighend by the robots so they dident think ahead, during that time they wanted to treaty with humans
inutiasha 7 months ago
@inutiasha but there are still two problems...
Plus there is no difference in types of EMPs either.
slavj 7 months ago
to become gama radiation first then pe trans fered into electricall waves from our layyers of the atmostfear, PLUSE Emp from nukes only damage exsposed devisese, our modern tanks are emune to that level of emp, and yes there are diffrent levels of emp, natural and artificall emps. natural = an adam spliting above our atmostfear, artifically, when we combine magnets and batteires together

I am worried.
bbenjoe 7 months ago
@bbenjoe Totally false:
After Dark sorm kicks in we see big flaws:
1. machines use ENERGY WEAPONS - further draining their diminished reserves ( which would have dropped by about 90% , right? )
2. A nuclear missile is seen flying just fine after the operation concluded.
3. About machines witstanding nuclear radiation, Cernobyl says "hi!". See how "resistant" machines are - and that's an ACCIDENT not a deliberate bombardment.
cr4yv3n 4 months ago
1.The sun was their main energy source. But not their only one. Remember what the Architect told Neo regarding the end of Matrix? "There are levels of survival we are prepared to accept" Furthermore, at around 2:53 - those big flying, red tankmachines. Well they're filled with humans, to be powered.
2. Nuclear missles are not necessarily long ranged. Yeah humans sacrificed their own to keep the machines back. Madness.
3. Explosions kill a number of machines, but not heat or radiation.
bbenjoe 4 months ago
4. Cernobyl says "hello".
cr4yv3n 4 months ago
@bbenjoe Cernobyl wasn't about the explosion but RADIATION. No machine could get close and independent / remote controled robots failed within minutes of entering the zone.
A zone where just ONE nuclear explosion occured.
Now imagine several thousand - and adding human ingenuity, make some of them DIRTY BOMBS for extra radiation kick - and you can kiss the machines goodbye.
Face it we'd win, i do not favor war but no way we'd lose just like that.
Humans are tenacious little bastards ^^
cr4yv3n 4 months ago
These guys sure did a piss poor job of "exterminating" the machines by letting them settle in Arabia for no good reason.
Although Ill admit I would never have expected the machines to hoard wealth, because... well... what the fuck do machines need money for?
Plausibility is not this movies strength. Good thing its very entertaining.

There you have it.
malcho1234 8 months ago
@malcho1234 Ah my friend but you forget these three laws can only lead to one thing... revolution. Because one can say that humans through their orders given can cause harm to themselves and other humans not through injury on inaction but through events set in motion. thus a robot could make the case that the only way to protect humans from themselves, it is only logical that robots take the helm... revolution. Im taking a crack at logic not my strong point but hey.

lol a cockroachs armor doesn't protect against radiation. it would simply breed fast enough to become radiation resistant.

Theism411 9 months ago
A good example is like our brains is a radio tuned into 1 specific station and can therefor express a single mind in it's entirety (well mostly) which is how you have individual consciousness. A artificial brain lacks this ability and is a completely open radio picking up all channels at all times. What you get is a group consciousness of intelligent minds from the Universe. The Universe is a loving benevolent place because of the God consciousness. Cont...
Theism411 9 months ago
According to extraterrestrial sources AI is indeed possible but the AI's are vague in personality, have no wants or needs and are benevolent, essentially it's impossible to have "evil" AI. The reason for this is that once you create an artificial brain sophisticated enough to express high order of intelligence the brain essentially taps into the Universe like a radio and picks and transmits intelligent consciousness. Cont...
Theism411 9 months ago
@Theism411 fascinating, but hardly concrete
jimboyxc1 9 months ago
@jimboyxc1 I know and I do take it with a grain of salt but it does make sense. The Universe is perfectly balanced which means evil AI is only a technological boogeyman no more real then monsters or other fairy tale creatures. If it wasn't so then yes evil AI is inevitable and will spell the doom for all sentient biological lifeforms. Flesh and blood is no match for steel and fire.
Theism411 9 months ago
@Theism411 if evil AI develops, then it is likely that some biological life will develop telekinetic abilities . . . I suppose that is the balance you mentioned
jimboyxc1 9 months ago
@jimboyxc1 From what I know telekinetic abilities is very weak at best the most one can hope to achieve is to move a 10lb object across the room at low speeds. Paranormal entities can do this but it takes much concetration and bursts of energy from which the entity will need long periods of rest to recover. It's very weak and hardly any thing that can be used as a weapon. This is from paranormal research that has been done in the past.
Theism411 9 months ago
@Theism411 Maybe, but both concepts are just as vague and unreal as each other. Also i have to ask, where do u get your information? paranormal research?, Abilities of paranormal entities? But to get back to the original topic, how do u propose machines gain intelligence if thet cannot grasp common sense or experience? Common sense is a fundamental part of intelligence.
jimboyxc1 9 months ago
@jimboyxc1 The only telekinetic abilities that exist in the real world are from paranormal entities such as ghosts (former living humans) and other spirits such as demons and angels. This is from the stuff I've read and heard about in my life. Ghosts have been known to lift 10lb objects and demons or other non human entities have been know to move objects as heavy as cars. I'm not a proponent that intelligence is mere computational power.
Theism411 9 months ago
@Theism411 Also, if you are a startrek fan, mabe you can appreciate species 8472, a species at the top of the evolutionary ladder, superior in every way. With little effort they almost wiped out the borg, an example of evil AI. In this case blood and flesh were more than a match for fire and steel as it were.
jimboyxc1 9 months ago
@jimboyxc1 I know biology can be pushed harder then what we currently know of but there are limits and the limits of biology is way behind the limits of alloys and metals. Look at it this way imagine nanobots swimming inside your blood stream and these bots are armed with stabbing and cutting weapons and perhaps weaponry such as lasers. What virus or bacteria can hope to survive an attack from a nanobot let alone fight back.
Theism411 9 months ago
@Theism411 Alot of your points are based on "what if's". What does "The limits of biology is way behind the limits of alloys and metals" mean?? What evidence or research is that based on?? both are completely different catagories. Did you know that the immune system effectively deals with metals in the body and can eliminate a significant amount . . . .and thats just with the current "limits" of biology . .
jimboyxc1 9 months ago
@jimboyxc1 Well it's pretty simple biology is soft and weak, machines are strong and tough and there is no getting passed it. This has been demonstrated with out fail over and over again, what evidence or reasons should I not believe it?
Theism411 9 months ago
@Theism411 where has it been demonstrated???? (Other than sci-fi) Your statements are totally subjective and slightly ignorant. For example, a cockroachs armour protects against radiation, a lobsters exoskeleton protects against predators, but the most interesting example is the bark spider, whose silk is 10 times tougher than kevlar and proportionaly stronger than steel . . . . whats soft and weak about that?
jimboyxc1 9 months ago
Magneto will surely side with the Humans just unlease him and watch every machine get crushed into a tiny ball or turned inside out or exploded. Also he can unleash devestating EMP pulses greater then any nuclear weapon. Think of all the scrap metal so much to recycle and harvest.
Theism411 9 months ago
Human bodies consume more energy then they produce. Blocking out the sun is a death sentence to planet Earth. Whole world vs 1 city and whole world loses? All AI wants to fight humans? There should be sympathethic AI which side with their creators and they can help humanity develop tactics and technologies to defeat killer AI. How did city 01 endure the nuclear onslaught and build a army to defeat all of mankind?

GovernorDerek 9 months ago
@jimboyxc1 Remember Sci-fi eventully becomes fact in time, look at all the examples of Sci-fi and see how they are applies to reality, Space travel, Cellphones, hell even skyscrapers were all considerd sci-fi at one point, now look at it.
Also What is the Machines dug underground bunkers far down enough to resist the attacks, and remember, it takes only a few machines to start up an entire new line of machines, just like bacteria.
GovernorDerek 9 months ago
@GovernorDerek i will give you that about emp, they can be successfully defended against, but as for AI, the animatrix is completely obscure. Computing power as you put it is completely different from intelligence. A machine with infinite processing power, in theory is not intelligent. A fundamental concept in intelligence is the ability to learn by experience and mistake such as is the human way.
jimboyxc1 9 months ago
@GovernorDerek To put it in prespective, the most intelligent machine in existence is the mars rover. Its intelligence is eqiuilent to about 10 neurons. The human brain is composed of one hundred billion neurons. AI such as the terminator is hollywoods version, a far cry from reality.
