dont hate on the pro guitar . i understand it not exactly real, but it a great tool for learning like me . it has a trainer and if you apply what you leared in RB3 , it helps . so i play both my real guitar and ps3 when practicing. it great for practicing had placement. (i do agree i you only play RB3 and wont try to pick up a real instument you suck) The lessons on RB3 are great which can be applied to real instument use

I've tried pro mode before. I like the drums but the guitar mode didn't impress me what so ever...I knew how to play crazy train on real guitar but this is so different because people charted them out by ear so all the notes are scrambled...also playing with the guitar track on the side like that just irritates me...

@Kurama034 You can already buy a Roland guitar synthesizer, and mod the MIDI signal to match RB3. Attaching this synth can make any guitar playable in RB3.
So I dont have Pro-guitar/ Rockband 3 , but I have taken guitar lessons for the past couple months. So quick question to someone who has gone through all the tutorials. Does the game actually teach you how to build chords and stuff or is it just "Here's this chord, Here's this chord. This is the E string. " ?

I mean it does teach you, but idk I didn't give it much time, but hey I just used if for the lessons, and just 2 hours ago I played breaking the law by judas priest with my assassin. I done with the guitar so I will sell the fender, wit fresh fender strings, an extra pack of fender strings .009-.042, cheap tuner, 2 great picks, midi adapter...if any one want 2 buy it msg me, i'm putting it on ebay soon.
@EdgeNicx i'm gonna put it on tonight i'm gonna auction it at 350 or buy it now at 380 but it comes with the guitar, midi for xbox, brand new fender strings .009-.042 cause if you use other strings with higher gauge, you will damage the guitar. Fuck the haters. Really, I have mastered the normal controller in a few months and I wanted something new. This is awesome, I experience the feeling of being a beginner again. Plus I learn chords if I ever want to pick up a real guitar.
i think this guitar (more specifically the new real string guitar) is a great idea! sure the guitar has its flaws (no duh, not everything is perfect) but it is such a new experience, and the idea is incredible. For those people who say "This wont work, it wont teach you anything!" that is not true!! it really teaches and the real point of the guitar is to have fun, not as a teaching tool even though it also does that good.
So basically, they have taken the family element of of the game and put a "real" guitar so its more realistic. if you wanted to learn guitar get a proper one and get lessons not buy rock band 3. and the "silly buttons" is what makes the game fun. im sad to say ive had all previous rock bands but i will not be buying this one

@Melodicfuckingmetal thats what the squier pro guitar is for. its a full sized, actual MIDI guitar. you could plug it into an amp and play or plug into the game and play.

Here is idea how about you play with the old guitar in regular mode, the pro guitar is pro mode for a reason, no one is forcing you to play it. lol i think its funny all those saying to get a real guitar when most of you probably haven't even tried to yourself.

So I dont have Pro-guitar/ Rockband 3 , but I have taken guitar lessons for the past couple months. So quick question to someone who has gone through all the tutorials. Does the game actually teach you how to build chords and stuff or is it just "Here's this chord, Here's this chord. This is the E string. " ?

@TheJorsh101 yeah it helps you with chords, that's really the only reason I bought it. I mean it does teach you, but idk I didn't give it much time, but hey I just used if for the lessons, and just 2 hours ago I played breaking the law by judas priest with my assassin. I done with the guitar so I will sell the fender, wit fresh fender strings, an extra pack of fender strings .009-.042, cheap tuner, 2 great picks, midi adapter...if any one want 2 buy it msg me, i'm putting it on ebay soon.

@EdgeNicx i'm gonna put it on tonight i'm gonna auction it at 350 or buy it now at 380 but it comes with the guitar, midi for xbox, brand new fender strings .009-.042 cause if you use other strings with higher gauge, you will damage the guitar. I am also adding 3 guitar picks, 2 of them are like 8 bucks for 6, an extra pack of fender strings, a guitar tuner, and amp chord

Fuck the haters. Really, I have mastered the normal controller in a few months and I wanted something new. This is awesome, I experience the feeling of being a beginner again. Plus I learn chords if I ever want to pick up a real guitar.

i think this guitar (more specifically the new real string guitar) is a great idea! sure the guitar has its flaws (no duh, not everything is perfect) but it is such a new experience, and the idea is incredible. For those people who say "This wont work, it wont teach you anything!" that is not true!! it really teaches and the real point of the guitar is to have fun, not as a teaching tool even though it also does that good.

So basically, they have taken the family element of of the game and put a "real" guitar so its more realistic. if you wanted to learn guitar get a proper one and get lessons not buy rock band 3. and the "silly buttons" is what makes the game fun. im sad to say ive had all previous rock bands but i will not be buying this one

Theres no need to down a game just because it has "silly buttons" and made it somewhat real for other people. This game could very well put up a foundation for younger people who want to learn. :)
