wow these people dont get it. he doesnt literally mean to fucking stop weapon development. he meant lower it because we spend too much on it. plus, the more weapons a country has, the more intimidating it is to other countries. look at russia and north korea. the thing is, iraq has nothing to do with the war on terrorism. they just had a corrupt leader and bush took him out because he wanted a reason to be in iraq other than the oil. plus we have an oil reserve that we have in emergency. look what they did to electric cars. they said it was bad and they dont recommend it because they want people to use oil. it was OBVIOUSLY cleaner technology

Our spending has kept the terrorist attacks in Iraq or Afghanistan and not here. In military terms this would be called a front. The enemy on defense cannot go on offense. Offense by enemies would mean an attack like 9/11 for which we all know the cost. I would rather fund a war preventing attacks than rebuilding not only buildings but lives destroyed by attacks on our own soil.
