  • Very happy to see and hear Sri Thiruvengadu Jayaraman Sir.

He was so dedicated to music.

He was so sincere, lovable and not at all a greedy.

    He was great.

Thanks a lot for posting my favourite artiste's song.

  • The title of the song says "am I not your(s) devotee..?". I haven't heard the whole pallavi to explain the full meaning. Most such lyrics address The Lord (either Rama or Krishna or Siva or..) and pray for His blessings. At times the composer chides His favourite God, other times he begs for mercy.

  • I love Classical Indian vocal music,,, what's being said here?

  • I am rather surprised that someone named Robert Becker is interested in Indian Classical Vocal music. Great. Keep up the interest. There are countless good pieces of carnatic music on Youtube that you can listen to. Also, much instrumental music. It gets better and better as you listen to it.

  • The composer Sri Thyagaraja was an ardent devotee of Lord Rama. He tells his Lord-you are the foundation of this universe, how can I live without you, You are the Lord of all Gods, friend of the Honest, you have eyes like Lotus, You are the only permanent. He goes on to sing-You are the personification of Truth, Permanence. You are Brave and courageous, the most beautiful, strong, You are being celebrated daily, I am your humble servant. I worship you daily.
