When private schools have head coverings as uniform its an issue of secularism and whether we should allow religious institutions to meddle with edu.

They were either handed over by the mums because they were being physically or sexually abused or because the parents couldn't/wouldn't look after them.

And if you read the meaning of racism it includes RACES.
Banning the burqa will include all RACES that follow that belief.
It is a racist law on any race that follows the islamic faith and want to wear the burqa.

@australianews - Islam is NOT a race it is a religious belief that seeks to enslave all non-muslim and either make them dhimmis or kill them. Read your quaran, haddith and sira. The quran alone has 109 verses COMMANDING not suggesting its followers to KILL ALL others.

I can not help it that the definition of racism can include races
and not just one race when one is being racist that can include
one or more races such as in the burqa debate.
It is not just one race that will be attacked by a racist burqa law it will be all races that have the burqa . you lose now go away.

@australianews - there is only one race, the human race. The americans are not a separate race, the poms are not a separate race, the dutch, swedish canadians aren't. And neither are the arabs or the asians or the blacks. The blacks have more melanin, the asians have a bit more fat in the eye lids, so the term racist is crap and merely used by some cretin to shut someone down when they themselves have no answers to the debate.

@australianews on one hand you say that islam is not a race, then you say that australians have a racist view on the burqa.
please correct me if I am wrong but since when does religion has ANYTHING to do with your race? there is no such thing as a christian or islamic race, just as there is no such thing as a burqa race. call this a violation of someone's religious freedom, because branding it racist is just childish.
