Due to some mishaps in early 2009, lading restrictions were imposed on Caticlan airport. The airport still operates but can only accommodate smaller aircrafts such as those used by SeaAir (Dornier) and Air Philippines (PAL Bombardier Q300). The runway is currently being extended to accommodate slightly bigger aircrafts. In the meantime, other airlines have been diverted to Kalibo airport, an hour and a half away by land.
asrock...this was on a Zest Air MA60 aircraft Manila to Caticlan route. Due to airport restrictions, I think Zest Air has temporarily suspended flights to Caticlan. They still fly Manila-Kalibo though.

By the way, what happened to Caticlan airport? We are planning to go to Boracay and a lot says that you have to go to Kalibo instead of Caticlan.
