As a father of 5, I would be so proud of Setara if she was my own daughter. But I would also be sad, that as a father, I would need to fear for her life, because she dances. I love Setara. I've seen Afghan Star on HBO several times now. It's airing there may bring attention from a wider audience to Afghanistan's people and in particular Setara Hussainzada. Many people in the documentary are interesting. And several are sympathetic. But it's Setara who sticks with you.

But literaturally we say nan, even in iran we use nan in different contexts. As u know there are more than 100 different local farsi accents in Iran, an each accent has it own system of pronouncations.

I love Setara. I've seen Afghan Star on HBO several times now. It's airing there may bring attention from a wider audience to Afghanistan's people and in particular Setara Hussainzada. Many people in the documentary are interesting. And several are sympathetic. But it's Setara who sticks with you.

I've just watched the documentary and I felt sad and at the same time disgusted. I understand that its the Afghan people's culture to abide by religious rules and I respect that. However, I also believe that everyone is created to be equal that is why I feel sorry for the Afghan women and all the other muslim women who are not able to express themselve and enjoy life like everybody else.

@hejran1 I said that herati accent is similiar to local village accents of Iran, and yes some heratis also pronounce noon instead of nan. But literaturally we say nan, even in iran we use nan in different contexts. As u know there are more than 100 different local farsi accents in Iran, an each accent has it own system of pronouncations.
