They're american toads and they're pretty common in most of america. You could find one in your back yard possibly if you have a some kind of body of water not far from your house and a lot of insects in your area. I have 4 of them. I haven't seen them in pet stores though. I have seen them sold on a few reptile sites online though.

@Blossum3 if ur toad wont eat just give it at least 2 days sum alone time in its tank :3 and then just put sum worms in a bowl (ALIVE) in its tank and move ya toad closer to the bowl and then walk away and come back maybe in a few mins and im sure that the bowl will be cleaned up after ya sweet lil toad ball ;D

Maggots are'nt a really good food for toads,but it will do.Maggots normally make them a bit ill,you should try crickets,grasshoppers or daddy long-legs,my toads love all them! :D Nice video,though

Dont worry an awful lot about the mealworm thing, eating through the pets stomach and everything. Theres NEVER been a single PROVEN instance of this happening. They say in rumours that mealworms eat through the stomachs of Bearded Dragons quite often, but still, its never, ever, ever been proven. Neither by photo, or anything else.

If your worried,cut the heads off them first. They wiggle more afterwards, and will cause the vivication effect a lot more, causing more motion that the toads like

those arent maggots they are meali worms. u should feed them crickets instead becuz i have 2 as pets and i feed them crickets becuz i read on the internet that those worms or as u call them " maggots" can eat thru the toads stomach. id think u want that. so if i were u, i would feed em crickets. unless its to late. :)

Try feeding them Mealworms, rolli pollies, flightless fruitflies, SMALL worms(cut in half, quarters, etc. if need be.), and slugs. ^^ They will eat anything that moves, though, and that is smaller than them. So don't have a huge toad and a 'baby' toad! The huge toad will just see the 'baby' toad as food.

Try pinhead crickets or flightless fruit flies availible at pet stores. Very nice terrarium and toads, I used to have three large toads, but then two of them died from some kinda sickness(I can only decribe it as "crapping themselves to death") so I took the other one out and put it in a different terrarium. Now I just have one adult and one baby that is the only one I kept when they bred. Anyways, congrats.
