  • What camera what this shot with Allan? Amazing..... simply amazing.

  • Allan+Chris=Awesome

  • I. CAN. NOT . WAIT . FOR. PAPERCUTS!!!!!!

  • On 23-24 seconds, what is that move called? Do you know where to find it?

  • @calmakris That's Raccoon by Kevin Ho. It was published in the book "Smooth Operations" which is available through Dan and Dave's website, and maybe a few other places, too. :)

    best,

    Allan

  • song? Please? :D

  • did chris lose alot of weight?

  • it's been a while

n i'm still amazed by this video

    :)

  • Today i punched a guy in the face because ......

1, he said this video sucked camel balls.

    2. he said cardistry is for people who cant get laid.

    3. i dont like him.

  • @Xenomorph144 1. You're lying to us

    2. You're just saying that to compliment this video (over-exaggerated)

    3. Next time, have an honest opinion instead of making up something about punching a guy in the face.

  • @BoiledBlackMilk 1. You don't know who i am.

    2. You don't know how i react to these things. Maybe it has happened before.

    3. How would you know if i was lying?

  • @Xenomorph144 Kid, please, I see these type of fucking comments every single day, and I know that any person could just write that to compliment the video in an exaggerated way.

  • @BoiledBlackMilk Browsing through my previous over exaggerated comments. I have problems with my anger and this isn't the first time something like this has happened. Leave me alone.

  • @Xenomorph144 Okay, you win. :D

  • I have to say Allan, i am about to start a Film Production course at university, and i think that your style is very unique. You have a true sense of depth to your cinemtography and i can tell you will go far in the film world, you never know we may end up working together :)

That said, you guys always impress me with your flourishing, and although i have only just started, i am hooked to the cards already. Just wondering, how long have you been into Magic/Flourishing?

    Steve

  • @ProlificStudios Hey, Steve! Appreiciate the kind words.

While it's not me in the video - I've been into magic for as long as I can remember. Probably sparked the interest at an early age - although I have been practicing it seriously for about eight years, although on and off in periods where the film interest has taken over. Flourishes - for about five years now.

    Good luck!

    Allan

  • Hey Allan, sorry for asking so many questions, but what lens did you use for this?

To give it that sort of, animated look.

    Cheers

  • @ChrisWebberMagic Hey, Chris. Sorry for not replying sooner. I think I used a 50mm and a 35mm - both Carl Zeiss. Hope it helps!

    best,

    Allan

  • Music?

  • @scare1988oktober

    the music is

    lausanne by arms and sleepers

    -gaël markey

  • Oh my jesus. What else can I say. I LOVE this video! The flourishing is so smooth and fluid, and add that with the absolutely excellent quality and editing.........well it's just magic. You guys are AWESOME! Keep uploading please!!

  • I'm hooked. I have to watch this every day at least 10 times or else I die.

Thank you for this glorious video Allan and Chris.

  • @ChrisWebberMagic Wow. Thank YOU, Chris! I appreciate it a whole lot. It's responses like these that make me want to keep making videos for the cardistry community, even though I'm busy doing my thing in film school.

    Best,

    Allan

  • Dude, well earned! Inspirational stuff right there. LOVE the cinematography. Editing style absolutely suited the video, nothing too extravagant, very simple, and very sleek. Contemporary. Extraordinary.

    Excellent.

  • what camera did you used???

  • Hey, MrMagic00ace.

It was shot on a Panasonic HPX170 with a Letus Extreme 35mm adapter. Pretty nice rig!

  • Hey again,Allanhagen

    Whats the differens between the

    AG-HPX170 and the HPX170

  • Great work, Your videos are quality

  • Saw this video long time ago but forgot to leave a comment.

I just can't tell how much I like this video. Performed great and shot/filmed just amazing. Music fits perfectly.

Overall this is creme de la creme of all flourishing videos on youtube, top class, and obviously this is what we all should aim for - real art.

Congratulations on good job both of you.

    -Alexander

  • Wow. The flourishing is so smoothe and the editing is epic. Allan, can I ask which software you use?

    George

  • Hey, George. Thank you very much!

I use Final Cut Pro, although this short little clip isn't really a demonstration of editing, its focus was more on the cinematography. =)

    Best,

    Allan

  • Hi, CardMadMonster.

You can! It's published in Channel One Magazine issue #14 as well as on Dan and Dave Buck's "The Trilogy" DVD set!

    Best of luck!

    regards,

    Allan

  • yh thats the problem (sry if i offend anyone with what i am about to say) its american and i lve in england so it is sort of impossible to buy them and i am not willing to wait 4 ages just for one move

  • Lol, buying the Trilogy won't just let you learn one thing, it will let you learn alot of things, and really good material. I live in England, and The Trilogy is certainly worth waiting for my friend.

  • you can order it @ dananddave (dot) com o.o

  • and also thnx

  • What is the flourish at 0:20? I would love to learn it.

    John

  • one of the best card flourishers

  • very cool..

  • Stylish. Wish I knew Wings of the butterfly...

  • 0:23 - 0:25

  • thats raccoon by kev ho:D

  • Agreed.

  • what's the flourish from 1:06-1:08 ?

i need to find out what it is!

  • That's Under Pressure by Mike Graham (Michael Vile).

It can be found in Dan and Dave's "The Trilogy" or in the LVMI Issue of Channel One magazine!

  • Why Dont You Guys Make A Flourishers/ Magicians Movie.

  • Because it takes a lot of time, a lot of effort, and a lot of money. A good film is a good story, told in a good way, agreed? First we'd have to write it. None of us have the experienced required to do so. Second, we'd have to produce it. None of us have the funds to do so, and we certainly don't know anyone (in Norway) who would help us produce a film about playing card manipulation.

It should remain the artform it is. A dedicated film would ruin it..=)

  • amen brother!

  • HOLY SHIT!

Thit was the best fkn video you have done!

    Really sick stuff.

    Like it alot.

  • Very good as always!

  • Has Chris got fat?

  • I agree..lil bit I think..

  • of course we wouldnt expect anything less than pure cinematic beauty from you. 5/5

  • that's great. How do you do the effect where you focus on his hands and blur everything else?

  • That's not an effect. He probably uses a depth of field adapter or his lense just utilizes that function already.

    -Ali Esrail

  • Hey there.

I use Garageband and Logic Pro. It really depends. I don't make that much music anymore though, but occasionally I'll sit down and come up with a quick tune or beat.
