Hi, I know there is medicine for cirrhosis, but does the treatment only slow it down which would unfortunately mean the person having it will die from cirrhosis regardless? Or, can the treatment control it to where, a person could still make it to the age of 100 provided there are no other health problems?
ambujjaen you are soooo fu_king funny. Why don't you go soak your head in a bucket of bleach? TruthPower you can fill the bucket and use it next. I'll bet together added up you are still under 30 y.o.a.
I was diagnosed with "Non A Non B" Hepatitis in 1979. I went into end stage in 2005. The doctors told me I had a 50/50 chance of making it 3 years, so I fired them and went to a Chinese Herbalist. Except for some itching and ankle swelling, I'm still kicking! BTW: Cirrhosis is ser'us bidness. Treat it as such, yo!
Yes,you either drink too much or in between of that, liver cirrhosis is the biggesst problem of all alcoholic, don't worry, click my user name to get help.
my dad has this he ask me who i am all the time even after i just tell him its me on the phone he is wasting away to nothing skin and bones and shell of a dad that i once new and i cry every day it hurts me to see him hurt so much and not be him any more it hurts to think of him and what he is going through my dad is 49 years old and he looks 79.the couse of his drug and alcohole abuse be smart dont kill your self like my dad did so did my mom.god bless you all
@kjandkat my mother and grandfather died of this. Luckily my siblings and I dont have alcohol probs. It is one of the most horrible things to watch happen to someone. This was over 20 years ago, hopefully they have better treatment for people with this today. Basically back then there wasnt much they could do.
You are not right though when you say that Liver fdamage cannot be reversed. You can get the Liver to regenerate. Read Dr Sandra Cabot and take some non medical advice.Milk Thistle is also a herb that regenerates the Liver. A bit misleading!
Wow thnx for this i am going to use it for My Health Class is is perfect exactly what i was looking for !! too bad everyone else wasn't so lucky... :( i feel sry for those pll every hour
My dad had hepatitis C 10 years ago and it degenerated to cirrhosis two years ago and passd away three months after he was diagnozed, he never smoke or drunk, ironic too
Very informative (and nice superman soundtrack!). A question, though, is there a certain age where cirrhosis occurs more often, or does it purely depend on the cause and individuals physiology? i.e. is it common or unlikely for young people (mid to late 20s) to get it as opposed to older people (40+)?
It depends usually on the cause, because it was reported about a young man in either his late teens to early twenties in the UK, who lived on a diet of solely fast food. (He never once ate anything healthy, not a single fruit, vegatable) Everything he ate was deep fried or cooked in oil and he developed liver disease and died as a result, even after he had been informed his lifestyle would kill him.
im a mother whos son has got liver problems he is 15yrs old and has had a transplant and let me tell you its not something i would wish on anyone i have to look after him 24/7 he is on meds for the rest of his life which will be short so think yourself lucky you can help yourself my son was born with his liver probloms he has no life like you lot do .
My Father died from Cirrhosis. He abused alcohol and drugs for years. By the time we found out what was wrong it was too little, too late. It had progressed to end stage liver disease/ liver failure. Don't be fooled though, even social and moderate drinkers are at risk for developing cirrhosis. Likewise not everyone who abuses alcohol will develop cirrhosis. It is completely touch and go.
Every young person who has started drinking alchohol should watch this. I have just given it up, not because of ill health. I stopped before it's too late. I didn't drink every day but I was binge drinking and it started to effect friends, relatives and finance. My body is out of shape.
I gave up binge drinking cuz it was making me feel really shit physically and I felt it was extremely unconstructive (what with wasting days hungover). Unfortunately I now find myself drinking a can a day instead, although I'm gonna stop this somehow before it gets out of hand :(
Pretty good, but how do you convince a person who has no veins in his stomach and is a heavy drinker that he's nearly there? Almost impossible I would think.
Then how come there are people out there who were ONCE addicted and have quit by sheer willpower? And yes, there are some. And lastly, I had some friends who dealt with addiction to various things. Some of whom didn't live as a result of it, some who have triumphed over it. I also for a short time in my life, due to hanging with the wrong crowd when I was younger, was once an inhalant abuser and I managed to quit by God's good grace. So madmick, before you criticize and bash me, watch your mouth
No its not, and for those who do have them, unfortunately, they have to be on anti-rejection medication for the rest of their lives. Some of these medications (if not all) contain steroids and for women, in particular, the drugs mess up your hormones and then you would need to take hormone replacement drugs, which also have their own side effects. Etc, etc. No, it is not fun.
If I am remembering correctly, alcohol is processed through the liver, the liver has to work harder and harder with every drink that you take. the liver can only work so hard. the liver cells then work too hard and some die. liver cells do not grow back in their place, instead scar tissue forms. scar tissues cannot do the same things that a liver cell does, so there for you have less liver cells working to breakdown the alcohol, making the remaining cells work harder and harder and die more...
great commets, I have my father now having big problems with this, I just got 4 blood units, he suffers all the simptoms that are posted here, NOW IM SCARE SINCE I DO HAVE THE SPIDER RED THINGS ON MY BODY, WHAT SHOULD I DO, I ALWASY ANDERED WHY I HAVE THIS SINCE I FIRSTnoticethem on my father body when i was young.
Apparently your not a big drinker, so you wouldn't know how hard it really is to stop drinking once your hooked, thats why theres rehab facilities, so your comment you left about "lack of self-control The normal person would stop drinking" makes no sence cause your not normal if your a alcoholic.
shut up,just cos someones addicted does not mean they are not a normal person..if you understood addiction ,you might see differently, its not just about lack of self control.people who are addicted.have lost self esteem, belief and are at the lowest point of there lives..so its harder than just saying no ill stop now..dont talk shit
this video makes me sick as fuck. for one u prolly dont even know what its like. 2 this music sounds like a star wars fucking song it may even be and that is sick. its nothing happy. well have a pleasant day in hell u sick fuck.
The Brtsh govt is too busy making money from booze. It really couldn't give a f!ck about people being addicted... hang on,isn't that how crack pushers stay in business?

Doubtful.
You didn't take any permanent damage.
You usually get it with Hepatitis C.

@basava3232 - Your chances are slim based on that condition alone. Other health conditions you may have can put you at risk
