  • Thanks for the great "How to" video. I was able to succesfully creat a map based on a stored track. It is transparent and overlays the base map on my Garmin Quest. However I would like to overlay the track as a polyline on another map I have which contains much more detail. Could you please give me some tips and point me in the right direction, or is this not possible to do?

  • ibycus314 thank you for this really useful information. Yesterday i made my first test map for my Garmin colorado 400t after watching your video. But i have some questions.

But i don't know how to unlock it, so it doesnt appear as a map on my device. If you know something that can be helpful i will be

  • Thanks for the information. Basically what I want to do is map out 4x4 trails in relatively uncharted area. Because its not a common use for Nav systems, its hard to find the info I need.

  • There are a few projects underway in different areas (Google Calgary Trail Maps for an example). But pretty much any 'outdoor' Garmin GPS will do the job you're looking for.

  • What Garmin unit did you use to gather the data? Do they all do it? Thanks!

  • You mean the trail data? I used a Garmin 60CS. A lot of them will, although not quite all. Basically, what you need is any GPS that supports a "Tracklog", which is most (although some of the Nuvis don't)
