Beyond that, neither the left or the right are exclusively pro or anti-statism. Libertarianism and authoritarianism have adherents from both sides of the political spectrum.

Finland, Denmark, Australia, and New Zealand have the best education systems, and they're overwhelmingly public. It's a societal problem, not one inherent in public education. virtually everything in the united states, including the federal reserve (our central bank), is privatized, this means that if you attempt to tax the corporations etc. they will simply bail which will result into less business.

- the annual salary of each Representative (including mccotter) is $169,300
- obama wanted to tax anyone making over 80grand at one point
- over 70% of jobs in the united states are from small businesses (a majority of which bring in more than 250K annually)
- i dont have a problem at all with obama wanting to spread the wealth, however, if you want to be realistic, you have to apply this to the superrich (atleast 500K annually).

And marxism is, in the words of marx, a "classless, egalitarian and stateless society". Note that one of the main goals of marxism is the abolition of the state. Progressivism is a broad term for advocates of progress of any kind. How are they the same?

And again, there isn't. Obama attempted to bring our failing healthcare system in line with the rest of the developed world. 'Obamacare' is the meagre, diluted result of that. It's a compromise. Most progressives support a taxpayer funded national health service.

And our healthcare system is vastly inferior to those of countries with government run healthcare (ie. all developed nations except the US). I can tell you this from experience, or the Commonwealth Fund report from 2010 that placed us last out of seven first world countries can tell you. A national health service would benefit the citizenry, not the government.

Why would the profit motive be removed from research? It's the provision of medicine that would be nationalised, not the research. Pharmaceutical companies would still be private and able to sell to hospitals.

Finland, Denmark, Australia, and New Zealand have the best education systems, and they're overwhelmingly public. It's a societal problem, not one inherent in public education. I don't see why this would affect healthcare provision.

virtually everything in the united states, including the federal reserve (our central bank), is privatized, this means that if you attempt to tax the corporations etc. they will simply bail which will result into less business.
the ideas are great and all this sounds good to even me. yet, one must see the ties involved in all of this.

just a little technical info:
- the annual salary of each Representative (including mccotter) is $169,300
- obama wanted to tax anyone making over 80grand at one point
- over 70% of jobs in the united states are from small businesses (a majority of which bring in more than 250K annually)
- i dont have a problem at all with obama wanting to spread the wealth, however, if you want to be realistic, you have to apply this to the superrich (atleast 500K annually).

Having read most of the responses to this video, I notice that the majority of those who disagree with McCotter call him "idiot", "moron", or worse. What confuses me is that liberals consistently refer to conservatives as stupid (Bush, Reagan, Palin, etc.). Yet, the only words they can come up with are idiot and moron. Perhaps that's because liberals can't defend their positions that make absolutely no sense. Liberals will weaken our economy and our position in the world. Keep it up Thad!

I have more college experience than Sarah Palin. She is an idiot because she does not understand any concept of what a VP does, and doesn't do. Bush is a horrible person for trampling down the Freedoms of America, for falsifying a war, and because he has a very low IQ.

Well, it's difficult to argue against such logic, but let me try. You have more college experience than Palin? I would bet that about 10-20% of adults do (have a masters degree, to best her bachelors degree. What does this have to do with anything? Therefore any congress person that has a law degree, which many do, is therefore more qualified? I think not. Executive experience, business experience, and yes "community" experience are all factors worthy of consideration.

Taxing entities over $250,000, by the way, often means taxing companies, which is impossible - companies either pass the cost along as consumers, or fire/fail-to-hire employees. That means taxing YOU, not the rich.
