  • my brother did something simular to that in my 88 dakota.he borrowed it and forgot the linkage was messed up.it had a cat delete and would cackle so he went to rev it at a friend as he passed by in N,it grabbed R at about 30 mph when he hit the gas and he ate the steering wheel & beeped the horn,his buddy with him ate the dash and white smoked in reverse. after that when id start it,it didnt want to go like the E brake was on. let it run a min, be easy on the gas and it would loosen up and go.

  • My 4 cylinder Jeep with 32's and a Dana 35 can do that . Rolling down the hill cause enough momentum to keep the Jeep from going forward. Nice video though. Don't underestimate the Dana 30+35 they will hold up a long time if taken care of.

    Reverse to drive? I didn't know manuals had a "drive" position. If you watch the video, he very clearly coasts downhill, then lets the clutch out in first... The AX-15 is a very strong transmission. Everyone here is bitching up a storm about the tranny, when really, they're just being retarded. You included.

    The forces on the rear end are divided fairly evenly between the two shafts, with only a moment of shock load (when he drops the clutch). This is completely different, and less strenuous on the axle than being locked in an offroad situation, or when a majority of the driving forces on the rear come down on a single shaft, under a majority of the weight of the vehicle. Which is not a factor in this video.

    Don't worry, the D35 in this video didn't feel much.

And the Cooper M+S's I have on my 99 have gotton me through the same hole a chevy with a 7inch lift and 35 super swampers went through. So i think my "street radials" do just fine. I've gone through numerous motors, swapped out transmissions, gone through transfer cases, setup rear ends, front ends, suspension, engine management, wiring, torn apart cars for derbys, changed all sorts of tires, tubed tires, etc, etc... I've done a lot more than swap out some unit bearings and re-seat beads on tires.
