They wrote this song because of the Nirvana song 'I Hate Myself And I Wanna Die' or something along those lines. They wrote it because they wanted to give off a positive vibe. However, they don't actually mentioning anything to do with Nirvana in this song. They DO have a sound of their own, as you cannot compare them to any other band, they're too unique.. I'm a hugee fan of The Blackout and was lucky enough to see them live at Sheffield last saturday!

I think it's meant to be ironic. Emo music is associated with suicides, self harming and depression. So what does an emo group do? Sing about how they love themselves and life. it's merely challenging people's preconceptions of emos.

I know it isn't depressing and self harming but that's what people's perceptions of it are. Not saying it's right but it was just a stereotype. I didn't know it was a reference to a Nirvana song at the time as I only had their last two albums.
