what about using an msr miniwork water filter of Katadyn water filter or a steripen.

@afterthefox7 that katadyn filters are eeexxppeennssivee haha the aquafina bottle works fine for just me and if im with alot of people then the tablets work good because i can just feel all the bladders up drop a couple tablets in them and be done.

but, if you need water now or for cleaning a wound you have to wait, $79.00 is not bad for a beneficial investment, its basically a one time thing, like they told me one time, you can't take the money with you when you die. If i'm thirsty i want water now not later.

for cleaning wounds i use iodine. I can have water instantly with the aquamira water boter filter because all you do is put the water in and its filtered as you drink it or squirt it out.

@jab0505 Don't let people tell you that you need filtered water to clean out a wound. in an emergency situation, just use river or lake water for irrigating lacerations, etc, then you have the right idea with the iodine around the edges. your main goal will be to stop any bleeding first. let the Dr.s deal with the rest when you get to the hospital. Great videos man.

@campagnolo14 thanks for the comment. it really depends where im going. usually i will cook over the fire as long as there are no burn bands. ive found its just as easy as a stove and i will usually have a fire anyway so why carry the extra weight of a stove and canister.

The potablable aqua is great and yes takes out the color and taste of the iodine.
