I was always hoping they'd reboot Syndicate. If Syndicate Wars was released now, it would be a multiplayer hit. Instead they've developed a Deus Ex rip-off. Damn shame.

They are remaking Syndicate, under a new name and published by Paradox Interactive. It's called Cartel and it's supposedly supposed to work like Syndicate with all the modern bells and whistles and trimmings. And hopefully a more dynamic gameplay between corporations than a linear set of missions like the original...

Also, this edition of Syndicate is a linear FPS...nowhere near the depth of Deus Ex. More along the lines of The Darkness, with its very mild RPG elements.

I'm the kind of guy who is into futuristic first person shooters. I love BF3 and MW3 and SR3 and, you get the idea. I also like intense action film moments and OTT explosions and unrealism, like prototype sort of unrealism.

@TheCrispyClip There is a lot wrong with it. It's pretty short, and not even that great in that the story is bland and uninteresting. It's not entertaining at all, and might start to drag on, making it feel longer than it really is.

Multiplayer is limited to a CO-OP that adds nothing to the genre, except for the ability things, but most of the time the team can win by only using a few of them.

And the graphics actually hurt my eyes. Too much BLOOM, blinding, and that HUD wobble made me sick.

The graphics are great.. on the PC version. The Bloom is at a GOOD level, overdone in SOME areas to give the effect of walking from dark room to bright outside, which then fades away. The HUD bouncing around SLIGHTLY gives more depth, most games have a moving HUD.

The game had its ups and downs in combat. B became the magical "Easy kill" key. The boss fights were nice and challenging.

But all in all, the game is good. Just not amazing.

Hey, I got this game, but it's hard for me to play with keyboard & mouse, because all the button appear on the screen is XBOX buttons (with A,B,Y,X,LS,RS, etc.).

Also, my game cannot save automatically, so when I "continuing" play, it makes me "play a New Game", no saves available... Shit, I played for 3 hours long...

I gotta admit the solo campaign is blah. I mean if you like shooting stuff with a touch of "other" added in it's fine. The online co-op though is very fun though. I thought I'd give it a try after I beat the solo and it's way more fun with 3 other people. If you don't have online access it's definitely not worth the money, but if you do it's worth picking up.
