@gheith001 when u get to 2nd it should 2 yrs till 3rd then 3 years 4 4th and so onto be 9th dan lookin best part of least 15 years if done the right way should no be grading each year heard people have put rush though and its the the right way

yep, mcdojo equals "certified" black belt within 18 months. I studied Gung Fu quite a bit many years ago, moved and looked for a new dojo. found a place in Columbus that guaranteed a black belt within 18 months. lol. The master I trained with before that wouldn't have guaranteed a black belt in 18 years.

Now I'm on Judo. I would like to try tkd also (martial arts are nice), but I don't know how hard would TKD be for me. That brick braking... I could never do that :(

its cool...tkd can be tough at times but a good instructor will see you through.. like my grandmaster doesn't let you go to the next belt until he knows your ready.. my blue belt test i have to break boards. but i don t think we break bricks.. atleast i haven't heard anything about it..

A mcdojo is basically a 2nd rate martial arts school. You usually find them in taekwondo (which is what I study) or Karate. You can usually tell if its a mcdojo if they have little kids who are black belts, or if they have belts that they've made up (i.e a camoflauge belt, there was no camoflauge belt in ancient japan or korea) if you go to google and type in mcdojo you can read all about them.

or in some places, White, Yellow, Green, umm senior green?, blue, senior blue, brown, senior brown, red, senior red, Black 1-9 dan, any like diffrent degrees between perhaps and like 10th dan for masters who there family gets the belt.. not sure..

yes there is. different schools have different colors.. ours is white yellow orange green blue brown black. school who come from different grand masters have different colors.. they study a slightly different technique.
