Practice! To get faster signing overall, start fingerspelling every word or item you see. It may seem cheesy at first, but it will help immensely.

Have fun with it! I sign songs... and love it! Try the same, even if you're just beginning. Only take to heart the "constructive" criticism.

Also, if you can attend any Deaf Events around your area, communicating with other signers (especially the Deaf/HoH) will help you immensely!

How long would it take to memorize this and remember all of it

Hey, it always takes me about a week to sit down and go through each sign/trying to get the motions to be fluid, and then about 10 takes in front of the camera until I perform one I'm satisfied with.

If I really like the song, then it's easier to memorize (this, for example), then all of the above was definitely done in under a week.
