Where I live I ALWAYS see parents, usually one, let thier small children walk or run in the busy mall parking lots and not even hold thier hand or watch where the kid is! It pisses me off, that and dogs left in hot cars. People are so stupid!
Good point. It's psych 101 too, which parents forget. Ignore bad behavior and only reward good behavior for best results. Yes, they are teaching the kid to get attention by disrespecting adults.
"He's gonna grow up to be a mass murderer, and they are a lovely family', my favorite line! LOL I totally agree about the parenting style and parents have to stop rewarding bad behavior too- xoxo SVJ
Absolutely. As parents we TEACH our children how to behave by the way we react (or don't react) to them. They learn quickly if we're willing to teach them. Too many parents want to be actively engaged and involved with their children as little as possible. This is the result.
mass murderer? That's a little extreme. I do agree with you that those two parents lack control over the situation. My kids know they get nowhere fast with that behavior. I could see, maybe, that child growing up thinking that the way to get what he wants out of life is to yell, scream and bulldoze over anyone or anything that gets in his way, but mass murderer? Probably not.
I could not agree with you more on this one Susan! This is the entire problem with society today! People have raised their children with the idea that they are in charge. If you don't squelch this type of behavior early and have them know who is in charge, they will walk all over you for life. You must establish the dominant position. I know we are not talking about training dogs, but a lot of the same things apply. If you don't spoil your kids they most likely won't behave like that.
mass murderer cmon that's a bit over the top don't you think. I agree not to engage the child etc but sometimes parents have just had the worst day possible and are at there wits end not knowing HOW to cope. and so mistakes happen.
I think the child may grow up spoiled but ya know....
Ooo, I would have never tried that on my mom when I was a kid. She put the fear into me. Loved my mom and respected her more than anyone/anything else but man did she put the fear in me. lol
