i had an iphone and traded it for the better storm. new updates will be out soon to fix any bugs. it has bluetooth, longer battery life, removeable replacement battery, can get a 16G memory card giving it 17G memory total, better resolution screen, works faster, better speaker quality, works around the globe, video camera, 3.2 MP pictures, flash, faster 3G verison network, app store in the making, copy/paste, picture messaging, i heard it will have wifi soon, the list goes on. sry apple :(

Vodafone Direct in Australia are out of Storms as well. Not sure about the local shops. But Direct are the only ones offering an free 8gb card. Hopefully get the phone this week sometime.

I can only answer for the UK sorry.. but I hope my answer helps. It's basicly because it's Vodafone's answer to o2's iPhone. If you want an iPhone go to o2, if you want a Storm go to Vodafone. I've been with o2 for a few years, but nothing personal to them.. they don't do a storm.. so I'm going to VF. Storm does what iPhone does plus more. I've not done contract for 7 years, but I NEEEED a Storm. I'm in love lol! :-D

Sorry for late replay - only just been looking into the Storm. If your network does the Storm, if you're not due a free upgrade.. IF they let you have a Storm they will probably charge you due to the higher spec it has to other phones around. Maybe £150/just over $200. If you speak to your customer service and they say no, here's some tips: tell them you're a loyal customer who spends good money, always pays your bills, been with the network for years and they may crack for you ;-)

Storm will be released this Friday (7th Nov) with Phones4U however you can get your preorders in now or you'll probably have a fight on your hands to get one. I hope to receive mine this friday . Vodafone will receive them in store a few days later so I've read. Hope this helps :)

No you cant - Well technically you can , but you will be using your data plan, becuase storm doesnt have WIFI , so you cant connect to wifi and watch videos, but Blackberry spoke person said that you dont need wifi with 3g becuase its fast. Verizon and AT&T are going to carry the Blackberry Storm in the US. I hope Sprint gets it too, but if not, I'll have to switch to Verizon after my contract w/ Sprint is up in December.

Actually AT&T isn't going to carry it at all unless Verizon's sales on the phone tank, because it's contracted as a lifetime Verizon exclusive (provided RIM is happy with the number of sales Verizon gets), so there is a good chance you'll have to switch over when your contract ends.

This device is going to have 1 major advantage over the iPhone 3g. AT&T's 3g network sucks. AT&T's Edge network even sucks. The Verizon network's coverage is ALL over the place. Now this to me is very important because I don't live in a huge city like New York or Minneapolis. I cant even get Broadband Internet where I live.

Needs to be available on tmobile also. Most people I know with Blackberrys use tmobile. Verizon sucks and they charge outrageous prices and try to offer too many services.

It's got some advantages over iphone in terms of feature but once again, Iphone reigns supreme in interface design. Why can't anyone better it man? Damn! One thing I do know, BB is worse than MS in terms of design. Their icons, interface are extremely ugly. Hope they improved.

The other point is that you can't deny that it looks extremely bulky.

However, this is probably the best competitor there will be on the market because all the other copies of iphone sucks.

Sadly the iPhone's interface is all that it has to it's advantage. As a smartphone it is next to useless and too closed off thanks to Apple. No MMS, no cut & paste, flaky 3G vs other 3G handhelds, a useless appstore, no background running apps - the list could go on.

Apple are stunting the iPhone with their silly SDK guidelines and I'm already considering ditching mine for the Storm.

The AppStore is useless how with over 100 million downloads and an average of $35 million sales per month? Free graphing calc is useless? Free language dictionary apps is also useless? You might want to rethink that since BB is also planning to create their own AppStore even with existing sites selling BB sw. BTW - You must have jail broken iPhone since you are in Taiwan.

Don't fall for Apple's big sales numbers. I'd say 80% of the apps are pretty much useless and any iphone user would know this.

The best apps that come to mind are the language translation ones, where you type what you want to say and the iphone will output the speech in that language. So far the development SDK is far too restrictive so devs cannot use the full power of the hardware because a lot of the phone is locked off.

I can say the same for any platform. A lot of sw is junk.

Have you seen medical references, db clients, VNC, remotes for media center, radio, 3D molecule viewer, various calc for different disciplines, measurement tools and games. The list is growing daily. Developers are making money. It's a low cost entry way for small developers to sell directly to a lot of paying customers. Apple's restrictions aren't killing the entrepreneurship in developers. Numbers of new apps shows it's not a problem.

YOU guys don't get it. This phone has a virtual qwerty keyboard. When you type on the screen, it feels like you pressed a button on the screen plus it has 'localized' haptic feedback only where you pressed and of course multi-touch, copy and paste, etc.

Have you seen the price for Blackberry apps? Super expensive. This thing is like a brick...not so good for the pocket. It's probably going to weight more than the iphone.

No wifi sucks for travelers. With the iphone on the other hand, you can use Skype now.

Iphone constantly delivers updates. I am sure this will rarely, or never happen with BB.
