Hi. Nice layout. Shame the curves are a bit sharp but i guess its a 'space' problem for you. The steam locos always look best on any layout i find. Ive been threatening to build a garden layout as i have a 100' x 40' garden so plenty of space plus all the necessary stock. 22 locos in all & about 200 various rolling stock. Its a question of finding time for me. Any major problems in laying a garden layout? Any good tips please would be welcome.
oh that brings back memorys of my layout. silly question really, but have you thought of adding the smoke effect to the steam loco's? i used to have this on most of my models and it was great! i still have my mums oo princeth elizibeth with its original tryang coachs and that must be coming up to 50 years old. and she still runs!
I have two Tri-Ang Britannias both of which have the "synchrosmoke" units in. Unfotunately because my layout is digital, requiring a microchip to be fitted to each loco, I am unable to run the Britannias in digital mode because of the smoke units. I have not found a way of "digitsing" these yet but I'm working on it!
No not always, it depends on what the weather has done between running sessions, if it has rained then a wipe round with a cloth will do the tricl to get any grit off the rail surfaces. Prolonged damp weather can cause problems with clean track afterwards but a peco track rubber gets rid of most of the gunk

I've seen (most of) your videos now, and you have a nice range of locos - and a decenct-sized layout to boot! (Makes me envious!)

Hi Jules Brilliant video yet again, some nice track side shots in this one.
I have had a few test runs on my garden railway, all seems ok so far.
Do you clean your track before each running session?
