3 dislikes? Who would click dislike on this??? As the great King Kenny Dalglish said to Wenger 'ach! Piss off!' This is tremendous and timeless! Thankyou very much for upping!
God bless you, my dear friend. An inspiration and a modern Shakespeare. Real talent is rare; brilliance is an honour to behold. May we meet again one day.
Someone should upload "Real leather Jacket " and share it with me. This is a song from the That'll be the day film soundtrack. It goes something like this..
assclown and megagayer surely have the taste of a brain dead bottom feeder of some kind. The kind of art that Stanshall produced has clearly gone way over your collective heads. My advice would be to go back to whatever mind numbing entertainment you choose to while away your unenlightened lives
I think you're wasting your time, old chap. These bottom-feeding types below neither understand Stanshall's genius, nor will they ever touch as many lives as he did with their pointless little existances. RIP St. Viv.
The first time I heard "Yelp, Bellow, Rasp, etc." from Men Opening Umbrellas Ahead I bawled like a baby. What a genius! Why, oh why did such a man have to hurt so Goddam much just to get up in the morning?
Poor Viv... the way he died. In his life he suffered a terrible lack of fatherly love that affected his comic and musical material disproportionately. But we have what he left us, that body of work interrupted only by his own extreme idiosyncrasies and, of course, his premature death. Thank you for this wonderful Late Show digest of some of Viv's inimitable performances, from earliest to latest.
No, he was not autistic. He was almost definitely manic depressive- in fact, he was like Spike Milligan in many ways, although far more difficult for "normal people" to get a handle on.
To my shame, I must confess I've never seen this before...so thanks for sharing this...Stanshall was an absolute genius..eccentric..yes...but so quintessentially English in both these traits
The thumbnail of the video is creepier than fuck.

on a real leather jacket
With a lotta zip.
And greasing back his hair
in the mirror Jimmy learnt
How to curl his lip....etc..etc..
Brilliant number...if you have it then post it.
Luv you ....bye !

John Peel has a facility with words that is as good as Viv's whilst being totally different. The definitive witty critic.

God, John Peel. Now there's a bloke who did so much to introduce British music to the States. Both he and Viv are very much missed by this Yank.

Was Vivian Stanshall autistic?
MondoBeno 3 years ago
No, he was just different to you. You had that privelege in those days.

No, he was not autistic. He was almost definitely manic depressive- in fact, he was like Spike Milligan in many ways, although far more difficult for "normal people" to get a handle on.

Im an aspiring comedy writer and I only hope that one day I can write something that is nearly as humorous as Vivian's Sir Henry At Rawlinson End.
I know it's impossible though.
I wish I could have met him before he died.
Such a shame he's not around anymore.
