It's bone chilling to listen to the old commercials 12 yrs later, heck I even have cassettes I recorded off radio stations in the early 1980's I guess it pays to not hit the pause button during the commercials LOL. Most of these cassettes from the early 1980s were from a radio station called 1380 KGLD, which played oldies format, and lasted till 1992. It brings back loads of memories when I hear those old commercials, as well as the music. I wonder if these may be worth something
AM 1560 WPAD was a radio station out of Paducah Kentucky playing adult music and memories standards. I think I have over 25 different cassettes that I recorded of that station from 1995 to 1997, they then went to a all sports format in 1999. I would take a 90 min cassette tape stick it in the radio, and hit record, come back 45 mins later to flip the tape around, I since have then just few yrs ago transfer all these cassettes to one 6 GB mini disc.
This is very sad. I have several cassette tape of AM 1560 WPAD that I recorded back in 1996, and 1997, and they used Mutual News as their hourly news cast. I think some of my tapes have Fred Lowery, as well as David Hall giving some of the news casts. I think David Hall may be related to Sean Hall. Mutual news was simulcasted on several AM radio stations throughout the U.S. I think they have been gone since 1998, or 1999. I am so glad that I decide to not pause the tape during recording LOL.
Wow. What memories... I remember working at Mutual as a 6 month vacation relief engineer in the mid '80s. It was only six months, but in that short time I learned so much about broadcasting in general, and audio in particular. Keith Angstadt, Wally Tienken, Fee Lee, Ted Schneider - you guys bestowed upon me knowledge that I use in my career even today. I hope you are all doing well in your present endevours - Derrick
HA @ Mark McGuire having 'roid rage! If we only knew then what we know now.

Hey, that's Bill Pimble coming to Sean's rescue when the Boom Box doesn't immediately boom at the beginning of the last newscast aircheck.
THANKS for the great clip Marty!
