  • I just got this 45 today, and its still in it's original 1955 paper sleeve that has artwork of a girl in a pink prom dress and two guys in tux's with Teen-Pop in the corner, 35 cents, it was originally put out by Prom records. :D

  • Awesome song! I heard the mandarin version too! It is so impressive how they can sing the really fast part. :)

  • She dated my uncle way back when. He was in a big band in MA.

  • this song is sick

  • Wow! Never heard this before...What a swingin' tune!...Garranteed to shake the cobwebs off your dancin' shoes. Thanks for posting this! More, please?

  • Cool post. Thanks.

  • I want to learn to sing this song!

  • @OHWISEONE1996 Did you ever learn this song? The verse that includes "a little turtle-dovin'" is a killer.

  • The chinese version by Grace Chang was also good!

  • @masterimasim ya ... I mean ... "I want you to be my baby" is translated in Chinese, the rest remains in English, which I find it very interesting, cuz you can't really find this kinda combination in Chinese songs these days ~

  • Someone mentioned earlier that this was recorded by Lillian Briggs whose

recording got most of the air play at the time. I personally like Georgia's

version much better. It was Lillian's that got the air play most of the time

I know, I was around then (11 years old!) All I heard at that time was

Lillian's version on Epic records. If I'd known of Georgia's at the time

    I would have wanted it.

  • I have someone in mind :)

  • Я не слышал песни по темпераменту и ритму лучше,чем эта.Я обожаю ее!!!

  • LOVE this song, both eng n chin version!! XD

    Classic!

  • ok! good song!

  • I love this song. But does anyone know who sold most with the recording of this number?

  • @Operalover12002 Lillian Briggs on Epic records.

  • There is a Mandarin Chinese version of this song, recorded in Hong Kong in ~1957 by the singer Ge Lan (her English name is Grace Chang.) There are several Youtube sites for that version, in prestine audio quality. I always thought this song an ultimate crazy happy party song-- no drug induced, please,-- then recently I heard a new Chinese version of it in Shanghai dialect; it was deliberately kitschy and giddy and happy and fall-off-chair-funny...

  • I like both eng and mandarin chinese version

    they are cool

I've tried lots time to sing this song but it's just so difficult

i havent heard the one in Shanghai dialect haha

but it must be very interesting

  • i heard a song on tv, does anybody know what this song is? it goes" all i want is my happiness and music music music." it starts off like rag time music. i heard it and i love it!!!!!!! can anybody help me?

  • @tamisweetie: I believe your thinking of "Music, Music, Music" by Teresa Brewer. Hope that helps.

  • @tamisweetie It's "Music, Music, Music"... "Put another nickel in,in the nickolodeon..."

  • @tamisweetie "Put an other nickel in, in that nickelodeon, all I want is having you and music music music"...it's called Music Music Music, some call it Nickelodeon

  • This is a japanese verison of the song:

  • Miss Gibbs was around from the late 40's and was popular well into the 50's. Recommend her version of "Side By Side" and a duet with Tennessee Ernie Ford titled "I'll Never Be Free"

  • @bawdybill I think you might be confusing Georgia Gibbs

with Kay Starr. Kay was the one with "Side by Side" and

the duet with Tennessee Ernie, both on Capitol records.

  • questa canzone è stupenda!

  • The first version of this song I ever heard, and the only one I knew of until recent years, was by Ellie Greenwich, who recorded it in 1967. Because she was also a songwriter, I thought she wrote it, although I learned in 1968 that she didn't. But I still didn't know who else had recorded it until some time later.

  • Annie Ross recorded also a version of the song.

  • This was a cover of the original version by Lillian Briggs, who later became a close friend of Lucille Ball. I heard Ella Fitzgerald (!) sing this in a "Jazz at the Philharmonic" concert in St. Louis.

  • I love this happy song :)

  • wow what a strong voice!

  • I luvee...gotta learn it for something...lol

  • From Russia with love.Great hit. Fantastic music."Это что то бесподобное.Ритм сносит башку,ноги сами начинают дрыгаться,темперамент нечеловеческий.

  • Our Ge Lang can sing the same nice.

  • Love this song. Thanks for posting.

  • Her distinct, voice got you.

  • I used to turn my radio all the way up, when Arnie Ginsburg played on his "night train" show...This really rocked them and still does...THANKS!!!

  • Where can I read the text o this song?

  • darn what talent!

  • There are far too many great songs on YouTube to listen to. Superior to what is on the radio nowadays or on the current music charts.

  • I completely agree!

  • @davesharon5747 I think it's great how many songs (and video clips of forgotten TV shows) are on YouTube.

  • Well, 'kicks', I can only say

    this...honestly, I never heard

this recording until i played it

on YouTube just now. It's one

flippin' wild number. I like it

fine! I like good music, too!

  • this is one of my all time favorite songs. why are there no comments!? oh yah, cause people dont like good music anymore.

  • agreed.
