I enjoyed the sculpture more before seeing the video. Here's a guy who likes making figures, but he has to justify it. 90% waffle is what he comes out with.
Pink is punk? What? Does he even know what punk is/was?
The skills don't exist to make a stone podium? God, I could make a stone podium as good as his chipboard one - and I'm just a handyman.
What a disappointing video. Dreary and dispiriting.
Sorry you didn't like the film, I've always found Kenny to be an authoritive and knowledgeable speaker and find the genesis of his work as interesting as the finished works.
I guess that by it's nature art can be divisive and I respect your opinion whilst disagreeing with it in strong terms.
I hope you get on better with some of my other videos.
Thanks for posting this excellent video. Whenever I visit Aberdeen Art Gallery (whic is often)I look at this intriguing and impressive sculpture, so it is fascinating to hear what the artist has to say about it.
It was an interesting video to make, all told around 3 months from the armature to the gallery. Kenny was a great subject who gave me prety much full access to his stuido during that time, and he speaks very eloquently about his ideas, the history of the art, and where he fits in, all devoid of conceit or any arrogance, despite his critical success.
I'm lucky enough to live in Glasgow, where a lot of his public work is sited.
I'm just curious as to the source of this video, I'm doing an essay of Art and i need to reference it

Good sculpture, though.

A bit like Koons or Murakami.
Love his work, wish I could afford it.
