@CHRISTIANSOLDIER101 No, just someone who actually BELIEVES that the Bible is the fully inerrant, inspired Word of God. If you truly want to know, seek those who still believe this. We Christans should HUNGER for the Word of God and Rick Warren is doing everything in his power to shut that down. The Bible warns us more than once to be ready for these false teachers because we have a good foundation in the Word. Rick Warren is the most subtle I've seen and perhaps then, the most dangerous.
There are plenty other churches than Saddleback. Paul warns us in his letters to be aware of deceptions and false doctrines. Rick Warren's doctrine is false, the things he writes in his books are different than what is written in the bible. The things he says and does differ from what is written in the bible.
1 John 4v6 says We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
Stop listening to Rick yes, and instead read the word of God, you will find the two quite different.
Paul said in Ephesians 5 v 6Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
You either believe Rick Warren or you believe the word of God, you cannot believe both as they are completely different. The choice is yours, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling (phillipians 2:12).
The bible also warns: "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine" 2 Timothy 4:3
and
Ephesians 4 v 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.
and
Ephesians 5 v 6Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
The doctrine which Rick Warren speaks here and in his books is not the doctrine of the bible. Paul in his letters emphasises the importance of heeding the doctrine of Christ and not of these deceivers.
The bible teaches us If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. 2 John 1:10-11
God didn't come to earth in human form so that we could "know what he is like" as Rick Warren claims in this video! That is a complete blasphemy! ...
Read John 3 v 16" For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
Beware of Rick Warren and his deceptions...
Ephesians 5 v 6Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
God sent his son Jesus in order to bring Salvation to his children and for people to know his true nature; that he is a Loving, Caring, and Perfect Heavenly Father who doesn't want separation from his children because of Sin. In order to do that, Jesus needed to come and take the punishment for our sins on the Cross. So in this sense, what Rick says makes sense.
If people believe that lovey-dovey God loves you and wants to know you, lukewarm, message and do not repent or believe on Jesus Christ or obey the commandments or endure then they will go straight to hell. The Bible makes it clear that we should be aware of deceivers like Rick Warren who do not endure sound doctrine. We are told these deceivers have a "form of godliness" 2 Timothy 3v5 so it is no surprize that what Rick Warren says sounds "kinda right" and sounds "a bit like what the Bible says"
