i like the video but just one bit of advice.. the music is reallly annoying. If it was on all the time it would be ok i guess but it plays for a while then stops then starts again.. reallllly irritating! otherwise good review
@pivot1022 The reason why people do vids on Crysis on their laptops is because it requires a great amount of ram and a great graphics card to play good without lag.

@masos10 If you want a laptop easy to carry around and take places get the M15x because it's slot smaller. If you are gonna keep it at home most of the time but leave every once and a while get the M17x.
@masos10 as you can see on their website M17x Starts in the Price of $1499, but Look Again "Starting Price" you will be upgrading it for intense gaming.. if you want it Hi end it will cost about $3199.. for with a Core i7 2.23GHz and more RAM and Good SLI Video Card..
M15x is Cheaper.. maybe if you have $1500 Budget.. you can get more performance in M15x than M17x
But Remember... there are some better hardware that is compatible in M17x but not in M15x...

Nice videos. As i am an owner of the m17x it is worth it going for this laptop. It is packed with a lot of power and the screen reflection i barely notice even when playing games.
yes we're looking forward to getting the M15x in for the portability, but also the M11 does look really tidy. Of course it won't stand up to the power of the M17x but the size and price of it will be a game changer.
No its an extra battery all together, and go for the 2.0 quad core, and if you can go up to $3,000 go 2.53 with 8 gb ddr3 and we will be computer twins come april =)
You'll get best gameplay from running on the mains power TBH. That defeats the object of a laptop, but that's how you get the BEST out of it. When you run from battery, it defaults to the onboard graphics card which will really let you down on the high-end games, so you need to swap the graphics card by pressing [fn] + F7. If you get sick of doing this, you should be able to set the battery default graphics settings in the control area (press the spaceship button).

hi, thanks for the comment! As Bartboy says, it've very unlikely, as they're not bulbs, they're LEDs which light it up, and LEDS are very durable and usually have a minimum life of tens of thousands of hours...
Yeah i have 2 other computer in my house, my gaming desktop was a couple years old, when i was shopping for a replacement i stumbled onto the M17X(always wanted a alienware). Even though it's very expensive, i do not regret it at all, this thing is just a beast and best of all, altough heavy, it's still a laptop. Also like you mention on your review, the screen is very glary, but the quality of the image is so crisp, that it dosent matter(guess you need the screen upgrade though).
There's no doubting that it's an incredible machine, and better as a desktop replacement (that's easily stored away) than as a portable take-everywhere laptop (due to the weight).
Any comments for anyone thinking of getting one? Did you get it for Gaming?

You'll get best gameplay from running on the mains power TBH. That defeats the object of a laptop, but that's how you get the BEST out of it. When you run from battery, it defaults to the onboard graphics card which will really let you down on the high-end games, so you need to swap the graphics card by pressing [fn] + F7. If you get sick of doing this, you should be able to set the battery default graphics settings in the control area (press the spaceship button).

@ndcv1deo im looking at buying your Alienware M17x with P8600 Intel Penryn Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz and would like to know if it runs games like Black Ops good? i would REALLY like to know soon as I am buying very soon, if it doesnt run big games like that, than would like to know about the current m15x you have ( Intel Core i7-620M Dual Core Mobile Processor 2.66GHz) would like to know if that runs good but obviously a bit more expensive (actually over my budget) but if i have to i guess i will have 2

Beautiful review. What's your thoughts about M15x. I ordered that for availability of extreme core i7 processor, and slightly better portability, and a bit lower price.

Hi, very nice review :) im considering buying this one, full upgraded, however in a old review i watches for a couple of months ago they told that keyboard flexes a little at senter, is this a fact? or was they just unlucky with their unit of m17x

Yeah, it does flex a little, but no more than almost all other laptops.

hi, thanks for the comment! As Bartboy says, it've very unlikely, as they're not bulbs, they're LEDs which light it up, and LEDS are very durable and usually have a minimum life of tens of thousands of hours...

Yeah i have 2 other computer in my house, my gaming desktop was a couple years old, when i was shopping for a replacement i stumbled onto the M17X(always wanted a alienware). Even though it's very expensive, i do not regret it at all, this thing is just a beast and best of all, altough heavy, it's still a laptop. Also like you mention on your review, the screen is very glary, but the quality of the image is so crisp, that it dosent matter(guess you need the screen upgrade though).

There's no doubting that it's an incredible machine, and better as a desktop replacement (that's easily stored away) than as a portable take-everywhere laptop (due to the weight).
