What a terrible video! If you interfere with the ability to understand what's going on, in no way does that affect the moral judgment which is based around the intention. The magnets are short-circuiting the brain's comprehension, not the 'higher judgement' resulting from it. Having said that, the research itself is interesting.
(i want to say off the bat that i'm not trying to start a comment war or anything, just posting my opinions so please don't take anything i say personally)
In as much as I find this kind of research interesting, i really have to draw a question about the last statement in the video. If we identify how the brain operates, how does that equate to there not being a soul? For example, you see this comment, so you know it was made using a computer. however, you don't know (to be continued)
@cevune you don't know (for the most part) whether i am a human typing keys, or some type of very sophisticated computer program acting on its own. In the same way, you can fully understand the mechanism (brain or computer) but you don't know if its entirely self sustained (brain controls brain = program controlling computer) or whether it's controlled remotely (human typing keys or a soul causing changes in brain activity). the same way, distorting the way the brain works(one last continuation)
@cevune the same way, distorting the way the brain works to alter results does not prove nor disprove a remote souls input; the same way strapping electromagnets to computers to get them to glitch and cause altered inputs/outputs does not prove nor disprove a human typing on the keys. Since the soul in and of itself is a supposed metaphysical or remote entity from the body, experimenting on the body's operation has no yield to the operation or existence of the soul (done. 3 comments long)
what the bullshit conclusion was that !? it is obvious that acts of human decisions, stating etc. are mechanical, are - in terms of biology - electro-impulses in brain, because human is ALSO material being, but it does not explanation WHY morality exist, why morality is like that and not like that etc. They don't even understand meaning of terms like soul.
magnetism of the moon, just to mention ONE of the various magnetic effects that influences various natural happenings or disasters on this planet..therefore, as we are a part of it whilst here in this form, it would only take natural logical -assumption- that as the planet is affected, so are we..and this study certainly goes to prove that..still why does it have to be presented in this form, as that the whole study was simply based on an attempt to try and disprove the souls existance?
Science, and this type of scientific studies, as interesting as they are..;it never ceases to amaze me that the point of origin to the studies seem to have it's basis in proving the -nonexistance- of any s.c "spiritual" (in lack of a better word) "substance" in the human being. It is rather -sad- as a matter of fact that there is any genre of science attempting such feats still. The planet we are on has magnetic poles, being affected in cycles (every day of that cycle) by the - cont;-
Why would it make it so it is hard to argue that we "need" or "have" a soul? If we have a spirit in our body, why would the physical body not have parts that correspond with functions of the spirit? I need nerves and muscles to move my fingers, why would I not need a part of my brain that helps interpret moral judgment? The body, including the brain, is the spirit's physical interface to experience the physical world.
THANK U FOR THE UP LOAD! I VERY MUCH ENJOYED IT!

@Starfires Explain to me why interfering with this particular region rather than any other compromises moral judgement.
