  • Huh, so it's sort of like the abs function on cars.

  • Thanks for making the vid. I was contemplating going brakeless but people drive too crazy for me to not be able to stop real quick.

  • lol micargi? HAHAAHAHA

  • @DEMONPLAYER101 Mercier, dumbass.

  • @PICOxARONIKxUNION

it's probably a bit harder on your hubs, so don't do it on your phil hubs.

  • haha my friend has the same bike mercier kilo tt

  • thats a good way to skid, fast stop ^_^

  • Two words: Coaster Brake

    I'm bringing that shit back.

  • @PRESTOALOE it never left it's called a beach cruiser .

  • lift ur back tire a lil more off the ground!

  • walau no good maa!!!

  • What if you're going fast?

  • yoooo i was doing this for a while to stop at every red light, after a while my cranks starting..... skipping a gear? or... something. But basically it was fucking up my bike. soooo i stopped and my bike went back to normal. just a heads upp..

  • @SNOB1R If I were you I would check my cog, lockring, and hub. Mine did this after 1 DAY of doing this and im gonna get it checked

  • @datazncarl i had to buy a new lower bracket and all that shit , not worth it.. fuck the fads, get a front break .

  • people say you cant stop immediately on a fixed----that, my friends, is the quickest way to stop on a fixie... learn it---important

  • @JoshyWoshy15 or use brakes lol

  • i can skid stop, but i rather use brake :D

  • Does this stop put a lot of stress on your pedal cranks? It seems like it might foment problems..

  • @nestea009 it actually put more stress on the hub because its made of Aluminum. The Cog and locking is made of steel there is a chance of you stripping the thread and ruining your hub.

  • @nestea009 only if you use cheap ass shity parts

  • You're supposed to use your front leg to pull up as you hop. I learned how to do it today while messing around. xP

  • If you're learning then try it on wet grass.

  • So you initiate the skid, let go, and keep doing this over and over?

  • this is not exactly a skid stop friend

  • @ongne1234 this actually is still considered a skid. It's a hop-skid as my friends call it. Saves you WAAAAAY more tire and slows you down by a lot on flat ground, but bombing hills..not so much. lol

  • @PoppinNapps blahh ..but i think it'll mess up your chainring and chain or cog

  • You need more muscles.

  • Is this way of stopping better for the hub ?

  • nice mercier killo tt?

  • This looks easier, I've BMXed before so I think this will be a whooole lot easier lol!

  • Is it safe to do this on a carbon crank?

  • @luongdung no, use a brake or get some man cranks

  • bs this is impossible i got on a singlespeed for the first time tried doing this nearly broke my damn leg

  • @samstterhamstteer maybe cause it was a singlespeed, and not a fixed gear. they are two different things =)

  • bahahaha!!!

  • OMG will noob riders stop saying that this guy's "skid" was gay, its not a skid it's a SKIP stop. It's another way to stop, skid just got popular because it was the easiest. Skip stopping is actually a lot harder. btw he doesn't ride with a front brake like the rest of you noobs!

  • @Quangiscoolio i find it interesting that it makes you a "noob" if you have some sense of self-preservation.

we should start removing the brakes from our motor vehicles too i suppose

  • Would you be able to teach how to skip stop?

  • skiding for people who actually want to live.

  • @Bad6rush Yes!!!

  • that seems really bad for the crank haha

  • @ChowyDaMan got its horrible for the crank. but especially the square tapers of the bottom bracket. you are basically just slamming them with all your momentum in alternating directions. *shudder*

  • thats true but considerin the tremendous amounts of pressure the crank and bottom bracket already goes through...its all about wether you can slow down to avoid crashin!!!

  • yea but you could say the same for standing up on your bike to climb hills right? its bad but crucial sometimes...

  • @ChowyDaMan

Look for old one piece cranks, much stronger, although they are quite heavy.

  • hahaha i love doing that

  • This skid is good for slowing down when bombing hills, or mashing through traffic and when you have to make an instant stop.

Balls over stem skid is for distance.

  • try to pedal backwards while going frontwards

  • that was a shitty skid

  • @toreyman100 because it wasn't a skid, it was a skip stop

  • why don't we just call it a skid?

  • how do u do that?????

  • when one pedal is at the 6oclock push down while pulling up on the one in the 12oclock, it should lock up and skid

  • I would think it's more like 8-9 and 2-3 o clock as seen in the video? Jumping when at 12 and 6 sounds suicidal to me.

  • I agree.

  • dont become a teacher bro.

  • dude wft was that ?

  • lol grab your front rim?

  • how to stop when you ride brakeless without using ur feets?

  • jump off?

    is this a serious question?

  • that's not possible haha, or fall off

  • throw a stick at your spokes.

  • Hop stops are basically good for bike soccer. if you wanna stop like that just make one big hop and stop. thanks for trying, come again.

  • one big hop poses inner tube problems.

  • I threw my chain doing this. Oops! Has anyone else ever had that happen?

  • your chain is loose.

  • Yep.

  • no...

check your chain line and tension

  • thats a hop stop!!

  • how do u do it ?

  • whenever i try to do this i can only have it like, skip once or twice and i dont come to a complete stop. do i have to start earlier in my pedal rotation?

  • why wouldnt you just hold your sit down skid for longer and whip it. its way saucier

  • its harder than you think to do skips but once you get it its second nature.

the first time i tried i thought i just had to push with the rear leg but i notice i had to pull with my front leg mean if you want to skid you would have to put on the straps ;P

  • man i cant do it, is my crank too big? is my bike too heavy? is my chain too tight?

  • Try to use the rear leg to pull up. Pull the toe clip and the straps.

  • you mean front leg to pull up

  • Comment removed

  • when i was learning skids this happened to me lol

  • Good for you... The tire lasts longer too!

  • @mightybj your pedals wont get fucked up right?

  • mmm not really

  • this is hard as shit ive tried it
