This song is like the "Mr. Brightside" of the 2010s. Its lovelorn lyrics, danceable beat and new wave synths really conjure up a similar mood and vibe. I hope it explodes commercially like that song, because the Pains deserve it. Two great albums and a great debut EP, and somehow I suspect they're just getting started.

Sure, it's a matter of personal opinion, of course. I think Hot Fuss was a really catchy, solid pop record, if not the most subtle, diverse or artistically rich. "Mr. Brightside" is a pretty classic cut, though. Not comparing these two bands, just some of the sonic qualities of the two songs as well as their mood and content.
