  • This version was probably recorded in the 40s as that was his heyday. He signed with RCA in 1941. Yes it's a silly song, that's what it was supposed to be and Spike Jones made a career out of satirical and light hearted songs.

  • LOL! this is awesome xD

  • what are you guys talking about? it has been the same all the way, people manipulating the mainstream. since the beginning of every industry. lot of great music today! may i remind you this is a pop tune??! try chris joss, beck, mike patton, wu-tang, of montreal, yuyayuyon, they might be giants, prototypes, architecture in helsinki, moby, mia, gwen stefani+++, all different music, all (borderline) pop, all good. you bunch of dandys missing out alot!

  • Este Spije Jones, !!! genial como siempre !!!! Es el mago del ruido y de la comicidad orquestales como nadie lo ha superado hasta la fecha.

  • fantastic song, i really despise todays music industry, im 18 i dont think i listen to a thing over the 1960s unless it genuinely pleases me to listen to it, it can make requests for songs at clubs a real problem haha

  • yeah i'm the same

i find it annoying that almost all the teenagers today seem to have no independent taste in music and work more as a deluded collective

and refuse to listen to any music older then them much less accept that the music is good

  • I would find this offensive, being sixteen, if I weren't so obliged to agree.

  • @hywel777 define "independent".

  • @hywel777 I think this music is more for kids.... It sounds too chidlish

however I prefer the Realm of Jazz (Ray Charles) and Broadway (Fred Astaire)

Oh and yes some Real hard music (System of a down) fun Music (Jason Mraz)

and rap music (Eminem). So i say Rejoice what you love and listen to all types of music cause you never know when you gonna get surprised :)

  • @SPARKULES The corporate wants to bottle and sell music, they want bands to sound similar to sell it. They take a bite out of whatever music is cool, strip it down, clean it up, market it, and give themselves credit for creating it. Its sickening. I really had hoped the internet and mp3 would have put them out of business and the music back in the performers hands. It did help, but people have to stop buying corporate music, and buy it straight from the performers themselves.

  • Ack...in my rush to hit the play button again, I clicked the single star! This song is most definitely not such quality as to earn one star, but to earn 6 stars were it possible.

  • thats ok my friend

  • hey do you know when this song was recorded? I have this exact version on a 78.

  • i think it was 1919

  • hmmmm, I searched him up and aparently he was born in 1911 so that means this probably recorded in the late 20s or early 30s. Just thought I let you know what I found out :P

  • 78's were made into the 1950's in case you were wondering. Judging from the style and recording quality, I would guess this is from the late forties or early fifties.

  • This was ridiculous song to begin with but they made it even more ridiculous by this rendition.

  • this is sooo goood ahaa

  • thanks (:
