Hello AussieMirage, I was looking to buy an aircraft, I am looking to buy either a Beechcraft Bonanza, Piper Seneca V, or the Mirage. I just wanted your opinion on what is the best, advantages, disadvantages, comfort, etc.
Hi - here is my "personal" opinion - Twins unless you plan on regular flying and doing asymmetric training and want the expense of maintaining 2 engines then I would give this a miss, has an added safety adv with 2 donks. But not pressurised/no radar (I believe). Bananza great plane strong well built great on dirt (Mirage is a no for dirt) still not pres and not sure on radar. Mirage has 1300nm range, radar, aircon, biggest cabin, nose locker, and most of all pressurized to 25000 feet.
Will be back in the Alice in Feb for my first trip of the year, then up to the Kimberleys from there. The Toga is a great stable aircraft you will love it (I used to own one before buying the Mirage), and as for the Kimberleys you will never want to go home.
Hey AussieMirage Great vid .... just wanted to know have you had any issues with your lycoming engine or engine trend since operating the aircraft... just curious thats all cheers.
As for the engine - no I have never had any issues, last check it had great cyclinder compressions and let downs. In short runs cool, chews very little oil - very smooth running engine, very happy with it.
Up until I purchased the Mirage I held a Commercial Pilots Licence with Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating.
Now, since owning the Mirage all I do is fly for my own company so I have down graded to a Private Pilots Licence with Single Engine Instrument Rating - easier to maintain.
WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!! Now that's what we're talking about! Awesome vid T, loved the Taxi shot. VERY nice GS and getting up to FL250 is what makes the Mirage just MAGIC!
I certainly was not complaining. FL250 kept me just above the cloub base, until it cleared. Below the base was very rough from the reports I heard from other aircraft.
Are GA aircraft allowed at Tindal?

One of the bests single engine ever.

89 knot tailwind and almost 300 knots over the ground at FL250 in a single engine piston personal aircraft. I'm envious.

Niceee Groundspeed. That's the equivalent of doing 190 over the ground in the 206!
